Since Dyna has been living at Angi's I am forced to hear cute tales of her adventures during the week, and then get to be snuggly with her myself on the weekends. We are working on fitting her in here, but until then I get daily reports about the cute noises she makes when she begs for grain, and how she buzzes and pesters the older girls now.
Today Angi called to tell me how cute she was at breakfast. She said Dyna is very picky about sharing her haypile, there are some horses she shares with fine and others she chases off (yes litle Dyna can bully a big horse!)
Angi was carrying hay out to the barrel in the middle of the pen and she said Dyna was right behind her (chest on her back close) with her neck and head wrapped around Angi, both ears pinned flat, guarding "her" hay from Reba. Angi said she was laughing SO hard the whole time at how cute she was!
She said if it was any other baby she would have got after them for being in her space, but since it was her, and she's so cute and so gentle and careful she let her. ;D This from the gal who bugs me about letting my horses into my space too often?

that's so great to hear that Dyna is actually acting like a youngster now...it seems that so many of the fillies and colts are traumatized by the time they enter the feedlot...

Well while Angi is one to giggle at a bit of atitude, she's not a big person and usually asks the horses to stand off a bit, and allow her to be the one that ivades their space. It's so funny to hear this person who has scolded me repeatedly for feeding treats and not being firm enough, be so ga ga over this little wooly beast!

Who wouldn't be ga ga over little Dyna. Such an adorable girl with personality plus! I'm so glad everything is going well for her. That Angi is just a sucker for a cute face!

Oh look at that chubby-wubby tummy!! How cute! She looks very related to my Rez horse. Before..... (Aug 2005) (he's on the right) you can see his skinny neck and wormy belly starting to go away. This is about 1-2 months later and after he was de-wormed and gained weight. Oh and if you DIDN'T notice, Garmish aka Bandit LOVES my boyfriend.

aaawww, she's really filling in! And looks SO calm in every picture...very self possessed? She does have a bit of mareitude with the big girls (and a sense of humor now) but is really as mellow and relaxed as she appears. It's like she has just decided the perks (no nose boogies, occasional grain, banamine for tummy aches..) are worth putting up with us messing with her feet and such. And if you can make a TRAINER loose her mind enough to laugh at questionable behaviors instead of discipline you .. well then I'd say you are a keeper!

I think Dyna was feeling a bit neglected since either the weather or building mustang pens have kept me from doing much more then just snuggling her a little the past few weekends.
So I played with her in the big pen yesterday. She had great fun running and kicking up her heels for a bit, I had to laugh at how cute she was! (the big mares weren't as happy with her.
When I took her out, she didn't want to lead down the drive. We did make it all the way down and into the garage looking for a hoof pick. She gave me all 4 feet calmly. She needs another trim already so we'll get that done soon. She sticks really close to Blossom (who adores and spoils her) I'll upload some pics from yesterday and post them.

Dyna moved a few weeks ago. She is now in Lake L.A. with Tiffany so I can play with her more often. She has made friends with Sevasti's 3 y/o mustang from Lifesavers and they keep the older folk on their toes. I can't believe how she keeps changing! She arrived looking very weanlingish.. not much bigger then young Dino. This winter she was wooly and plumpy looking. Short and stocky. .. well now she is slicking out and again more tall and lanky looking. She is growing quickly right now! I'll have to measure her legs to see how tall shes will finish out. Her age is still a bit of a mystery as she has 8 teeth now. They are all baby teeth with the outermost ones being pretty tiny still, so I'm thinking perhaps she was a late 05/early 06 baby and maybe not much more then a weanling when she was on the lot. (we waited a long time to see those outside teeth.
She's going to go to clinic the 26th and 27th. She just attended that one day back in oct/nov where we just worked her a little bit and then trimmed her feet. We really haven't done very much with her at this point, winter being windy, dark, and cold (plus she was 70 miles away...)
She really is a very steady minded girl. Oh she has a sense of humor to be sure, a mischievous streak I adore, and she holds her own with the big girls so how could I not love her, love her, love her.
THANK YOU again to Sam, Wendy, Michelle, Heidi, Dean, Kerrie and everyone else who helped her come here she is a joy to be around!

It's Dyna! LOL Angi taught her to drink ice tea from a bottle after she caught Dyna opening the bottle.. What does it say if your TRAINER is encouraging bad behavior? I think it means your horse is too adorable to resist! Sevasti called me laughing to also say Dyna was a complete crack up when Peter (think of Fabio, only not quite SO big, and who is a Roper and a cowboy mounted shooter!) came to do trims. Angi just put her chin on her shoulder while Peter trimmed her rears and she got into his tools and was drinking Angi's ice tea and Sevasti's coffee! Here is Dyna caught napping. Thinking she's just a yearling this year, she is growing taller! [/quote]
