#421 - NEVADA MUSTANG "Splash - aka Pinto Bean"This is Pinto Bean! (Ladies, take note. Don't let your husband name your rescue horses!) He is an absolute DOLL. He is a 3 yr old gelding from the Sheldon wild horse herds in NV. This guy literally escaped the slaughter truck by the hairs on his nose! The pen he was in was later found with shipping documents to Texas. Pinto has a great build, but he's not that big, so was rejected by the buyer. Lucky guy!! Pinto has more personality that 10 other horses combined. One of our board members got him addicted to M&M's of all things. He looks to you for guidance and reassurance when scared. He will be an easy one to get going under saddle. He leads, loads, bathes, stands for farrier and is UTD on all shots and worming.Pinto has been with us for a while now. He is one of our flashiest little guys, but his small stature has prevented him from finding a home. We HOPE he will mature to 14 hands. fingers crossed. He would be a fun pony club horse, gaming, etc. It's heartbreaking to see him passed over time and time again, but we know that perfect home is out there waiting for him. All adoption fees are used to pay for feed and vet bills... Adoption Fee is $600. - Available - CONTACT FOR ADOPTION INFO:

Pinto Bean is my favorite so far...how can I disguise him to look like a llama, Darla?
He is just adorable...have you considered suggesting him for cart pulling if people think he's too small to ride? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Pinto Bean Post by quatzie on Jan 10, 2007, 2:43pm
Well, lets find that llama wool and sew him a costume up, but I don't think we could make that neck stand to much higher... Some day c-cat you may break VOR ... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Pinto Bean Post by dcsmmi on Jan 10, 2007, 2:47pm
Isn't he a doll? He's a wooly little bugger now. =) He's going to be one of those "go all day" horses for someone. He's broadened up a bit from these pictures too..... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Pinto Bean Post by jenm on Jan 10, 2007, 3:39pm
Wow, he's gorgeous. I think from a distance, he sort of looks like a llama... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Pinto Bean Post by cybercat on Jan 18, 2007, 8:43pm
funny, Jen....!
Love those high stockings...I haven't really seen those on many horses... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Pinto Bean-Sheldon Mustang/Adoption Fee$300 Post by dcsmmi on Jan 18, 2007, 9:47pm
I think he looks like he splashed through a puddle of white paint! (He has splashes under his belly too.) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Pinto Bean-Sheldon Mustang / AdoptionFee $300 Post by mickeyfan3 on Jan 18, 2007, 11:05pm
Wow......if he was bigger (I'm 5'10") I'd try to convince my husband he's a new shade of Chocolate Labrador Retriever... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Pinto Bean-Sheldon Mustang / AdoptionFee $300 Post by tfrancis on Jan 19, 2007, 5:53pm
He would make a good PEE WEE pony. Need to contact some 4 H'ers. He is the perfect size for a youth -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Pinto Bean-Sheldon Mustang / AdoptionFee $300 Post by cybercat on Jan 19, 2007, 7:42pm
Did you notice all his fuzzy whiskers in his first picture? I like fuzzies... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Pinto Bean-Sheldon Mustang / AdoptionFee $300 Post by sundancer on Jan 22, 2007, 4:28pm

Too bad, he sounds like a really cool guy to have around. I would adopt him myself (try to find more small people like me! haha), but I have a beautiful girl coming my way soon. Good luck finding him a home. He's a cutie! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Pinto Bean-Sheldon Mustang / AdoptionFee $300 Post by cybercat on Jan 30, 2007, 9:23pm
How's our sweet boy today? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Pinto Bean-Sheldon Mustang / AdoptionFee $300 Post by dcsmmi on Jan 31, 2007, 8:29am
Muddy.
And very verrry lonely. The bigger boys don't play nice. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Pinto Bean-Sheldon Mustang / AdoptionFee $300 Post by cybercat on Jan 31, 2007, 9:34am
ooooohhh, the big meanies.... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Pinto Bean-Sheldon Mustang / AdoptionFee $300 Post by April on Jan 31, 2007, 6:12pm
I like the name Pinto Bean, for some reason . He is adorable, I love him, I love sorrels/chesnuts with lots of white on them.
If he were older and trained to ride I wouldn't think twice about getting him. We really need a ride-able one . I hope he finds the absolute best home, where he takes the person's breath away every time he/she sees him.
Good luck Pinto! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Pinto Bean-Sheldon Mustang / AdoptionFee $300 Post by dcsmmi on Jan 31, 2007, 7:00pm
Aww shucks April. He'll be a breeze to get started under saddle. He's even worn one for the first time...only a few little hops. =) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Pinto Bean-Sheldon Mustang / AdoptionFee $300 Post by April on Jan 31, 2007, 10:32pm
LOL, but I need somebody I can pony my Draft yearling off of! He'd look like a Mini next to him . -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Pinto Bean-Sheldon Mustang / AdoptionFee $300 Post by dcsmmi on Jan 31, 2007, 10:52pm
Now THAT would be a sight. Never underestimate the power of a willful mustang however.... =} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beanie is with a foster mommy - and doing GREAT. He's getting lots of attention every day, being lunged, and has been saddled a couple times now. He is amazingly intelligent - he LOVES to be talked to and will do anything for you if you tell him he's doing a good job. =)
He just needs that forever home....

Is Pinto Bean still available for adoption Darla, or has his foster mommy fallen for him?
