UPDATE - Shalimar's Adoption fell thru. She is safe off the lot, but needs to find a home ASAP.
Shalimar - black TB/QH type mare with a star, 15-18 yrs old, 14.1 hands. Pretty sensitive on the ground and doesn't really trust people right now, but the feedlot is a VERY scary place for her to be. She was not easy to catch, allowed us to pick up her front feet for a short time but didn't like to pick up her back. When she was trotted up the alley she appeared sound at assessment. She has an old scar on her back left hind and a small white mark on her hip. She was not too thrilled about having her back end touched, when Sam touched her scar, she picked up her hind leg and swished her tail. Would need to go to someone with a lot of experience. But she's a very pretty mare!
Shalimar is being offered on a gift contract, free to an approved home.
I can do $ 30.00 for this girl

Looks like Shalimar is OK....at least on the board. If its not too late, crum will loan the rest of the bail money to be repaid, and syndi is in the mix too...

Hi,
Shalimar is still waiting for her forever home. We are going to start working with her as soon as the other ladies leave, so whe will be less distracted. Shelly and I are suspisious that she might be pregnant.
She is a looker, some one out there must want her.

Shalimar really wants attention. The whole time I was working with Panik she had her nose right in the thick of things, when you reach for her she will step away.
She needs to find a home soon that has the time and facilities to work with her (her adoption fell through). This spot was only ment to be a layover for quarintine. Somebody must want her-her bail has been met so basically all it would take is a home and she is yours.

Shalimar has been clear to find her new home on a gift contract. She has made good progress with the trainer in her two sessions. She is a nice little mare who may be pregnant.
Take a look at her, she needs a home.

Hi everyone ! I have been off the board for 3 weeks with only access to computer twice. I see that I pledged $ 30.00 for Shalimar. I dont see a receipt from paypal so I dont think it was sent in before my computer went down. I apoligize for this. My pledges are not ( just for fun ). Im trying to catch up on both boards to see whats what. I guess my question is DID SOMEONE HAVE TO COVER MY $ 30.00 THANKS

Hey paintedlady, if you contributed $30.00 then your her mommy too! Welcome to the family!!
Shalimar is now on a gift contract, her adoptor backed out once she was off the lot.
She gets better everyday. This evening when we went to give the merry herd their treats she stood patiently waiting for her bowl, shared with another horse, and did not walk away when I approached to stand by her-I even got in a really good pet.
We just keep on working with her and remember that we can only expect baby steps.
