Hi guys, I'm really interested in taking Collista, especially with the help that's been offered (since I've "shot my wad" in part on helping a few other horses this month). I checked with her PS last week and there wasn't any interest in her. Does anyone know if there has been other interest? I don't want to step in front of anyone else who might want this sweet girl. I was also hoping to have Sam or Heidi check her wound to make sure it doesn't look to horrible. If anyone knows anything about this girl, let me know!

Let's team up! According to Deb, still NO INTEREST. She's stunning.
With only 24 hours left, I say GOOOOOO FOR IT!!
MTA: She's got the elegant good looks of a Hunter, once she's cleaned up, she's a horse any Jr./Am H/J rider would love to have!

Gosh, I don't know...anyone have gratefulknits email? and we should email nancik too...
Here is a possible temporary way to get another TB off the lot... There is a possibility that Collista has become sick. If that is the case, (and someone is checking this), then Collista will be safe from the truck. In that case, and if Nancik and gratefulknits agree, then perhaps Nanci's offer can extend to one other TB horse, giving another one a chance....
you guys following me here...? Its worth seeing if we can make it happen...

Hi, I agree with cybercat's plan. I spoke with Heidi a few hours ago and she was checking to see if collista is on hold due to illness. If she is, then by all means please use the funds to help another horse. Even if it is sickness that saves their lives, I'll take any kind of "save" I can get for these poor darlings. And my email addy is drhope@comcast.net for anyone who needs to reach me. I'll check my emails early tomorrow a.m. to see if anyone has any news.

I think our biggest obstacle is the saturation of the local available homes and QT sites...I hope we can encourage more local folks to open their pastures and barns to the refugees as they leave the lot, at least long enough for them to be ready for the next phase of their trip to their new homes....with the QT recommendations being longer these days, spots that otherwise would be open are not avail. right now.

Hi, I heard back from Heidi... Collista is off the lot in the QT pasture because she was looking sick. Don't have any other details than that, but at least she's safe from the truck. I'll take her when she's off hold, assuming she makes it fine. Heidi thinks she will...

Well, it's a confusing thing... I guess with the truck coming today (and new horses too!) there's some confusion. I heard from Heidi that Collista was in the QT pasture, but heard from Deb tonight that Collista is with her... I'm hoping to hear more clarification tomorrow when the proverbial dust settles. I don't even know where we stand on her bail!

OK, so they did pull Collista off the lot entirely yesterday, she is now safe at Deb's (thank you Heidi and Deb!). Her bail still needs to be paid, however, so if any of the kind pledge offers are still available, please go to the CBER store! I will definitely keep all of Collista's angels updated on her recovery and progress.

We'll keep you posted as Collista gets closer to coming home. Right now she has strangles, but is doing pretty well with some immune boosters from the vet. As of last report, her leg wound was looking better and she was nearly sound! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Collista- SHE'S SAFE, DON'T WORRY Post by pikzeedust on Jan 28, 2007, 4:11pm Congratulations!
