VICTORIA 8 - 11 year old, 15h, TB type (but not tatooed) chestnut mare. Picks up front feet nice but was quick with her hind feet. She appears halter broke and was nice and calm after being haltered. She was a bucking stock broodmare, but appears quiet and gentle. She is pregnant and thin but with time and patience she will blossom into a beauty. We were told she was bred to a black Percheron stallion. www.columbiabasinequinerescue.org/DEF-HorsesProfile.asp?HoID=629Price $650ADOPTER: Mustanglaya has made home offer if bailed BAIL PLEDGED:$100.00 NanciK PAID $ 50.00 NanciK PAID $100.00 Jessiegirl1981's totally ROCKIN' PARENTS! $ 50.00 Mustanglaya $ 41.00 halfwayhome TOTAL BAIL PLEDGED: $341.00

This mare is at great risk to ship next time, she is very sweet and gentle in the halter, she is also bred, poor girl, she needs some good care and a safe place to foal.

Oh, Nanci. that is SO generous of you! The pregnant mares are the ones that turn my stomach every time I see one on the feedlot. I can't imagine the horror of dismemberment and dumping those fetuses.....we have got to get her off the lot ASAP!!!

I'll throw in another $50.
She is exactly the kind of horse the FLO wants to load on that truck....heavy (with foal).

Yes they can.
They can't ship a foal under 6 months, but evidently, in utero is no problem!
You don't want to know what happens to the fetus during the slaughter process.

they might want to wait until morning to see if there is an adopter lurking in the background.
Hmm, that didn't come out right...mustanglaya made a home offer but as I was explaining earlier, that if an outright adopter comes along, that person will have priority over a Group effort such as we're doing now. And if that happens, the funds that have already been sent in will instead go to the General Fund, which helps pay for meds, feeds, office supplies, tack, farrier, etc.....of the many horses in the volunteers care. Some folks prefer to wait until everything is all squared away before sending in their donations. Just personal choice.
