Can we put a link here to Pete's page? Do you mean putting the link to Pete's thread? I'm not sure I understand.

I was on the phone with Sam last night & she'd said the TB mares were nickering at each other across the alley in the QT pens last night... Probably saying Thank God (just like us) I think if possible those who adopted these fine gals should bring them to the July Campout!!!

Apparently Rose is an approved "Oldenberg" - and is registered with the "International Sporthorse Association"... Can anybody tell me what this means - exactly? Other than I REALLY need to find a patient dressage coach!!! Thanks Mo

It means you just got a HELLUVA nice horse!! So apparently Sam or Chuck were able to persuade the 'consignor'....(looked for a 'nice' word).........to give up Rose's papers. I wonder if KittyCat got hers?

Well it pretty much means what Piopico said..... You have one VERY nice breed!! One that most eventers and dressage riders would LOVE to have, one of those breeds that if well trained can sell for tens of thousands of dollars!! You one lucky duck!

Well, I used to ride my friend's QH, he was a great trail horse, very uncomplicated. Then I moved away and while I was gone he had about 4 years of dressage training. I've spent the last year learning dressage, whenever I can get a babysitter. So I rode him a few months ago.....he began doing things like trotting in place(is that piaffe?) when I didn't ask...I guess my seat wasnt "quiet" enough...It wasn't as enjoyable as I'd hoped. If she is pretty high level I'd suggest working with a trainer or just have really quiet hands/seat. Lucky You!!!

Find a 4th level dressage rider/trainer or grand prix level trainer...have her/him ride her and see what she knows. The only trainers I know are in CA or IA....has her bow healed yet? If she hasn't been ridden in awhile she may need a few months of strengthening to perform some of the moves she might know.

Mo - where in Colorado are you? I'm an eventer (also in Colorado) and can give you a few names/numbers of good dressage trainers. Heck, if I were in better shape, I might hop on! Congratulations on such a great horse! When are you picking her up?

You're not too far from me! I'm in Bennett. My favorite trainer in the whole world is Lindy Weatherford in Ft Collins. Here's her web site: www.windholmefarm-colorado.com/She is calm and methodical in her training. I've never, ever heard her raise her voice or get angry in the least. Some of the dressage trainers in the area take lessons from her. The other person I like is in Larkspur, and that's Laura Backus. Here's her web site: www.psecequine.com/I haven't worked with her as much, but like her so far. My good friend trains full time with her and went from a scary rider to watch to actually winning awards last year. If you ever need some help brushing these rescue kids, just let me know, and I'd love to visit! Kelly
