I got to spend some time with Isabella yesterday. She's really friendly. Barb and I went to see the horses at different times yesterday, and Barb told me later, "I rode Izzy!!! She was super -- green broke, but I got here into a walk/trot/canter in both directions. She has to be the most laid back TB on the planet." The first picture was taken on President's Day. The second was yesterday, after Maryland was hit with freezing rain on Friday.

Laid back TB? What a gold mine you've got if this is the case. Can't wait for updates and more pix, please!

Any news on what to do about her Parrot Mouth??? What treatments are you trying?? Here's what Barb told me: "Izzy's mouth is inoperable. The board-certified dentist is out next week and will start her on a process of monthly tooth filings. Because there is no alignment of the two jaws -- her teeth will not wear naturally. We're going to try and x-ray the jaw that day too -- so maybe you can post the x-rays... The vet who does our teeth floatings said she has seen worse... but Izzy needs the specialized care of the dentist." Let me say though, I visited her again yesterday (March 2) and she really liked the baby carrots and homemade horse cookies that I gave her. In fact, Fanny turned up her nose at the horse cookie I gave her and let it drop on the ground, Izzy was there picking it up. Debbie

Ever since the horses arrived in Maryland, I've gone out to see them once a week. Izzy is such a sweet girl. She's the barn manager's favorite and became the favorite of the friend who snapped these pictures. She's still a little skinny, probably because Frankie, the little tyrant, chases her away when he wants attention from whoever is visiting. Izzy, Hannah (Fanny), and I Izzy and I Izzy and I with Frankie to the side

She's lookin' great! She has adjusted well to that parrot mouth. They don't know there is something not quite right with themselves. . .they just adjust and live their life.
