Can someone post the information on the horse sale at the Skagit County fairgrounds. I know they started selling horses up there after the Marysville auction yards was shut down a few months ago. I believe it was the last Sunday of the month but not sure. I know that the killer buyers were using this location to do some of their business.

there was also one in moses lake @ the fair grounds, not sure of the date but it is once a month, by the same western outfit that did marysville auction. I just went past central livestock yard in moses lake and there were horses and cows on the lot but not sure of times and dates on that one either.

HORSES, llamas, goats, sheep and pigs are also sold at the Toppenish auction EVERY Saturday.
This auction is one exit away, on the freeway, from a feedlot, from which horses are sent to slaughter. I know the feedlot owner and have seen him at this auction.
Horses sell dirt cheap here because most buyers go to this auction on Saturdays to buy cattle. I have seen nice paint weanlings go for $40, yearlings go for for $60 -$130, a pony sell for $10, nice 16h+ TB horses sell for $100 to $180. There are many TB farms in this area that dump their horses at this auction. The auction workers said to me that there is very little demand for TB horses at this auction, causing their prices to be low enough for the kill buyers. A well-broke Quarter horse can sell for up to $600, but usually average around $200-$300. The poor llamas usually fetch between $5 and $25 for a really stunning looking one. One time there were about 300 newborn Jersey bull calves, and they sold for $4 each or $30 for 10.

Wanted to say that the Horse auction through Chehalis Livestock Market, happens the first Saturday of the month. Tack starts at 6 and horses start normally at 9. This market is one of the better ones that I have been to. There has only been 1 kill buyer at that market that even the staff recognized and he is a very leniant man? In other words, he won't bid more then $50 for a horse, and if he sees someone else wants it, he won't bid on it. The pens are not in bad shape, the footing could be improved in the sale pavilion, but the retards riding the horses should know its slick and take it easy. Don't expect to get out of there with nothing! Great deals on tack! I bought a couple saddles from the auction! And if you are selling a horse there, when the bidding closes, if you don't like the $$ that it sold for, you can refuse sale. Stewart- the auctioneer is easy to understand and is a real funny guy. This is more of an entertainment night, then an auction!

I have not attended an auction here but emailed the owner and he said that they run the horses thru every saturday usually starting around 1 pm. I was wondering if anyone else from around here knows if this is on the reservation or not?

Update---Chehalis auction is NO LONGER selling horses! Floor too dangerous. They are now auctioning horses at the "Trails End Arena's" in Lacey (tumwater area) By the Airport. It is still on the 1st Sat. of each month, following the tack sales/ There are alot of different barns to see activities too. Went last month for the first time and enjoyed theh other activities more so then the auction. But horses were very cheap and in good condition. Alot of babies for sale. Sad day. Just an update. If anyone knows the exact city that would help others. I just know how to get there. Sorry.
