Anyone going to the Hermiston "Horse Extravaganza" next weekend? hermistonhorsesale.com/I don't have enough to do  , so was thinking about going and just seeing what it's like. I've never been to a livestock/horse auction. Not sure I want to. Just thought I'd see if anyone else is going. |

Yeah. I was thinking about Sunday too. Does non-catalog = loose horses = they just show up and decide to sell them that day? I'm an auction newbie.
Another helmet back in action. Nice! If I see you there, I'll be sure to get it from you. I still need to check and see if I even can go.

Yes, on Sunday its the open sale, some horses go thru lose, some not..either way its the worst day for horses & sellers & the best day for buyers & kill buyers. I bought a couple in the last sale.

I can't go - I have a GPS trail riding class - you know, so we don't get lost when we cut across country!!! Ha! Probably shouldn't rely too heavily on my skills right away...............Lotti is probably more reliable! That horse always knows where her horse trailer is!

Hi all,
I would love to meet up with CBER. I was hoping to go on Sunday too. Possibly Saturday for a little while if my husband okays. When I went in Nov it was quite eye opening, but I did not really 'get' all of what was going on. Do the killbuyers buy the reg. horses on Fri/Sat also?
How will I know who you are? I don't want to wear something that will make me stick out like a sore thumb-but maybe a certain color scarf or something. I think I might recognize Shawna.

Hmmm...I'm not sure how we should tell each other apart from others. My CBER shirt has seen better days and is now a work-in-the-mud type shirt.

I will just sort of look around for someone who looks like the rescue type The sale this weekend is a 100 times bigger than the one in November..the monthly sale doesn't attract nearly as many horses or buyers. I am unsure if I am going to be able to go on any of the days. I may have to make a emergency trip for family reasons to the portland area. I'll know more as the week progresses, but its not looking good. |

I know better than to go! I don't think I could go and not come home with something! ...especially if there is a draft in need! Although, I won't be shocked if I go out to find an extra horse or two out in the field! lol Lisa & Wendy think I have a pretty good hiding place. |
