Ty returned in mid-December much improved. Until the weather turned wet, I was riding him regularly on the hilly trails around here, both with groups and alone, and he's a great trail horse. He's not spooky....we pass turkeys, deer, turkey vultures, and a fair bit of road traffic. His trot and canter are both smooth, and he moves really straight, according to the Barefoot farrier I use. He has great tough feet.

Sounds like he's got it. Good report. He's certainly a pretty boy.

HE is much improved, but I am injured and it hurts me to ride the trot, so I've listed him under "Rescued horses needing new homes". I will donate him to NorCal E. R. if there is no interest here.

What is NorCal E.R.? They will be very lucky to have him and that is very generous of you! I know you've put a lot of time and effort into him. He's been one of my favorites!

NorCal Equine Rescue is a 501C3 near Oroville Cal. I have a Peruvian Paso that I got from them just after I adopted Ty in 2006........because I really have a 'thing' for gaited horses.

Michelle, (Buegel) did a reading on Ty and my other horse a few weeks ago, and based on that, ( AND my current disability), I've rehomed him with the original trainer I had. He has several young men who ride for him, and they just LOVE TY. Ty indicated to Michelle that he'd rather have a male rider, and trail riding and arena work doesn't 'do it' for him, so I suggested that they try him on some cows............or team penning.........he wants to be able to use his mind and quick-footedness! Her reading for Tory the Peruvian was right on..........she identified the leg he was lame on, and said it was around the coronet band. The Vet yesterday found an abcess there on the heel bulb!! I probably would have found it myself if I hadn't been disabled.

Sounds like the Ty guy is going to have fun in his new home. Congratulations to Ty, his new family and expecially to Kerry who worked so hard to give this little horse a bright future! I love happy endings
