I just wanted to bring to light that this girl is still looking for a forever home. She is being sponsored and is in quarantine but still needs a family and a kid of her own!!
Please put the word out for anyone looking for a great kids horse- Sam said she seems calm and kind!

Wanted to give a quick update on Crescent. After coming home to me- she went on a trial basis to a wonderful family with lots of horse experience. They can't say enough about what a sweet girl she is- however- they were hoping she would work for their 7 year old daughter and she is a bit too spunky for her. They have taken her out on the trails and done some arena work with her and say she is very sensitive to leg and rein. Said she will stop, turn and back with the lightest of pressure. However- she occassionally has what I would call "panic attacks" as if someone has gotten after her and made her spin circles and backup as punishment for something. She starts panting and gets very anxious as if she is about to be beaten on. They said she has never tried to buck or be mean- just scared. After talking to them about it- we both think she just needs time and a confident rider to come around- but right now she is just not the right horse for their needs. So she will be coming back to me until the right home is found. I must say she is closer to 14 hands and a real TANK! I rode her a bit before she went to them and think she could easily carry a small adult or experienced teen around all day. So I plan on working with her as much as I can but my time is limitted and I took her on the premise that I would need to rehome her so please keep her in mind. She is a very people loving horse- just needs someone with a bit of experience to work through her fear.

Real quick update on my sweet girl. I wish I had pictures- will work on that- but she looks SO DIFFERENT from her lot pictures! She shed out to a silvery/roan bay this summer. She is so beautiful (of course I am bias!). She is such a kind, sweet girl and seems to relish every minute you will spend with her. I have ridden her a fair amount and found that she is great when ridden in a confined area- seems to only get anxious when she is out in the open. So now that we know what it is that raises her anxiety level- we will slowly work through that. Even though it is obvious someone has been rough on her in the past- I can't say enough about her wonderful, sweet attitude towards people. I really look forward to seeing her every morning- she always has a friendly whinny for me. Does it sound like I'm getting attatched?? ;D

Maybe she spent most of her life as a arena pony for kids and that is why she got a little nervous out in the open fields.

A few updated pictures of Crescent - I have been brainstorming for a new name- Crescent is way too bland for her personality- need something meaning small but spunky- any ideas? I turned her out with Deputy today and boy... did she ever show him who was boss ;D!! She has plenty of "character" but she is very respectful when it comes to people. I have been riding her in the arena and taking her for walks in hand down the road- trying to help her relax when out in the open. She has alot of personality and is such a pleasure to work with. Oh, she's a beauty. Have you tried some Web advertising? mta.......my goodness- she's an entirely different colour than her Lot photo- who would have guessed she was ROAN?

Thanks piopico! No haven't done any advertising yet. Unless the perfect match for her comes along- I can't in good conscience-place her right now. I would like to work through her issue of being panicy while ridden out of the arena. I want to make sure she won't end up back in the situation where we found her. She is such a sweetheart and such personality to boot!!

She is a beauty! Great job! She looks like a Cinnamon Spice to me. And since she's got a spunky personality, you could call her Spice.

Crescent is doing great. All my horses and I moved back to Idaho in October- and we are HAPPY ;D! No more dealing with 5 months of pouring rain in western Washington! Crescent looks like a little wolley mammoth with her very long winter coat. She is still the reigning queen of the pasture and keeps all the boys in their place. We have had so much snow I haven't been able to get them from their pasture out to the road for a ride just yet! We have miles of open fields for riding here and I can't wait to get out there soon! She is happy and healthy and very much loved

OH Boy- can't wait to give an update on our girl! My good friend, just down the road, offered to take Crescent for the summer. She is very experienced, has lot's of pasture and more time than I- so I thought it was a real blessing when she offered! Well, it turned into such a great situation! She has two young children ( 4 and 7- I think?) who have just done GREAT with her! Both kids have been riding her in the round pen-walk, trot and lope! The kids have even taken her out on a few trail rides. Crescent is a completely different horse when the kids are aboard! It just about brought tears to my eyes to see her so relaxed and the kids so excited! I swear there is nothing like it- to see a child and horse- so happy together ;D! I know they have lots of pictures to post but they haven't got that figured out just yet. Just wanted you all to know- Crescent is doing very well and is a little girl's dream come true! It makes me very happy .

We went out for a great trail ride today and couldn't wait to share these pictures of Crescent- she and her girl- Claire- had such a great day! We all had a great ride today! To see that little girl and Crescent- I would swear they were meant to find each other! I am so thankful for everyone that was involved with getting this horse to where she ultimately belonged
