Lets get some stories and pictures of your wonderful rescues together and make a book!!!
This could be a really good thing for horse rescue. We don't have to start out spending a lot of money on making one. Just start out with a nice 8 1/2 x 11 spiral to give at the mane event, etc... If it is a hit, then actually bind it and sale it.
Anyone interested in supplying stories and photo's? I am willing to do the rest then get them to whoever needs them.
;D ;D ;D

That would be GREAT! I just love the 'little surprise' you received. He's a very handsome mule. The pics of him are just adorable.
Any and all stories are welcome. Long or short, happy and sad. It is all about rescue and those who do it. pictures of before and after, etc...
I think the book would be a great way of letting people know about rescues, all rescues, so if you have non horse rescues - add those too.

I would love to write up the story of my girls! In the next month or so, when their pasture is nice and green (and when we have a sunny day!) my father the amateur but wonderful photographer is going to come out and take lots of pictures of my girls. (That is my Christmas present from him! I wanted to ask him to do it, but didn't even have to ask!). So I could submit some nice photos and a story. Please keep us all posted as you start to collect these, and I'll participate!

A book of rescue stories. It can sort of be like a Chicken Soup for the Horse Lover's Soul except it will serve as an educational and enlightening read. I would buy a bunch and give them to people who have no idea how little it takes to make a difference.

EXACTLY!! Look how many of you pool your funds to save individual horses.
People give what they can , when they can and it makes a BIG difference. So even those without a place for a horse or a lot of money, can help save a horse (or any rescue).
What is that saying? It takes a whole village to raise a child. Same goes for animals too.

I would buy a bunch of them and donate them to 4H groups all over Oregon. Gotta educate the younger generation...........and 9-18 year old girls aren't usually jaded yet, and still have some compassion......unlike alot of adults that I know.

I think it would be great to try to get 4H groups involved. I am sure there are many kids looking for mounts so they don't have to share, etc...
If we could get in touch with them and setup an education seminar for their members, would be great.
