I just logged on & started bawling...I can't even begin to tell you guys how much I loved that colt, I miss him everyday..I still go to feed & forget for a moment that he is gone & look for him.. I find myself in his stall just sitting sometimes.. I had so many plans for him, even when we were all camping, I said to my daughter..next year Spendy will get to come. I hadn't really allowed myself to be love a horse like I did Leo aka leosolis until Spendy, he just wouldnt' let me keep my wall up...don't get me wrong I love all of my horses very much..but I just loved those 2 and Rosie a little more than the rest. I can't believe I lost Rosie & Spendy in the same Calendar year. When I weaned Spendy, he was put with Rosie (my gramma to all the babies) Rosie loved him so much, even when they were seperated she would perk up when she saw him..At least I know he is with her & she loves him as much as I do.

I'm so sorry Shawna....... I love all of my dogs dearly, there's always one or two that just give that extra little bit....you just can't help it and it tears you apart when they're gone.
Someday you'll be with Spendy, Leo, and Rosie again...they'll be waiting.

Wow, what a beautiful guy, his photo had me mesmerized. I know what you mean about how some, more than others, just become part of you.
My beautiful Ridge, who came to me thru shelberttk and countrymouse, is the love of my life. I feel all gooey when I look at him. Like a teenage girl in love.
I hope your heart heals some with time. Such a terrible loss you had. It's hard to make sense of it sometimes.

I'm new here, but not to Shawna (I just adopted Cloud, who is in QT at her place, and Stacie from CBER invited me here).
I'm so sorry to hear you've lost Spendy! Unfortunately, we get our animals on borrowed time, and it's never long enough. I try to see the end as an animal being loved enough to leave, in order to make a spot for the next animal destined for your ranch and your heart. It doesn't make the loss any easier, though. I'm so sorry. Sending big hugs.
