Arrow finished his Therapy sessions last week, and is now on a 4 week break from the massage therapy/cranial work he has been getting. I can't tell you how big of a change I have seen in him. He is really letting me love on him, and he has a very soft eye when I do that. Before I always felt that he was holding back, afraid to get hurt again. Yesterday was the most fun I have had watching him. My arabs were going crazy around dinner time, and were doing their laps around the pasture. All of a sudden Arrow caught the bug, threw his head up, and started running with them. Galloping, bucking, throwing that head. It was so awesome to see him so free, he seemed to really have fun. After a couple of laps he came to the barn door, and while I took care of the goats, he kept kicking the door, letting me know that I was not fast enough for his taste. He had that spark in his eye that I have been missing since he came home. I really feel that we have taken another step in our relationship.... I know, sounds kinda corney, but we have... (he is not getting the key to the houset though). thanks for letting me share this, I just feel we have reached such a milestone on an emotional level, and I'm so excited about it!!!!

Congratulations! I know what an awesome feeling that is! While Pippin didn't have any abuse before coming to me (that I know of, at least), it was such an amazing feeling when she started following me around the pasture for loves! Makes me teary eyed just thinking about it... I know you and Arrow are building a lifetime relationship (with or without keys to the house!) and I'm so happy for you that this progress is being made.

I have found through experience that if they can get on the porch, they don't need a key to get in! hehe
Sounds like you are on the right track! Awesome

That's great news. The body has so many emotional memories, and it can take some serious bodywork to get them released. Once they do release, it's so cool, because you can experience the true, pain-free Mr. Arrow. I have a feeling, swissgirl, that Arrow's going to not only get the keys to the house, he's going to figure out how to use the Espresso machine, and take his rightful place in the guest room.

What do you want to bet she'll end up giving him the keys to the car, too!
