Here is just an example of the misconception of horse racing........ In Puerto Rico they euthanize race horses and it upsets people terribly. It seems that they think the U.S. sends a good portion of them to sanctuaries when they are done racing Quote from article: "They Just Want the Horse Dead" Unlike on the U.S. mainland, where many former racehorses are retrained for riding or sent to special refuges, the animals have few options in this U.S. Caribbean territory. Jeesh, if only they knew how much more humane they are being! Of course, it would be nice if they TRIED to find homes for these horses, but at least they aren't butchering them.

I'll take the euthaniasia over the slaughter pipeline any day....as sad as it is, it's better than the nightmare our racehorses and others are facing....
