OMG! Has anyone let the owner know what happens to horses that go to auction? A KB wouldn't abuy a mini would they? Would this little guy get trompled to death in an auction pen?

They put everything together in those slaughter trucks. Everything.

Down here minis and cute ponies still sell well. Well over meat price, but I've heard slaughter plants don't like light built ponies, donkeys, or mules. Not enough meat on them.

Well, when I first saw the ad, they wanted $1000, and I wondered at what auction they thought they would get that price at?

I got to play with a mini last night - most fun I've had! It's like playing dolls. I was teaching him to longe and I trimmed his feet. He's a 12 year old stud that hasn't seen is owner in years, but he is such a good boy. He has to canter when I go at a jogging pace. He is SOOOOO fat I didn't do much for fear of him having a heart attack. He was rearing and bucking it felt so good to him to be out. I'm going to have to play with him more. I so want a mini now!

I know the owner of this guy. She tried to give him to me. I told her that I didn't need him after watching him run up to every mare in the pasture, squealing, only to be chased off.
She is a flake. She's supposed to be a trainer. I hired her to train a 1/2 Arab mare that I have in preparation for selling her. She was supposed to train the mare and market her for sale and of course take a commission. After having my mare for almost a week, she was kicked out of the barn she was training out of and had to move all of her horses, including this guy (he's not where these pictures were taken anymore). She promised that even though she had to move the horses to a friend's house, they would be safe and she would continue the training. I should have known that was a sign of bad things to come. She put a few weeks on my mare and actually made a deal to take my mare in exchange for training on another horse I have. Then nearly 2 weeks later, she said that her parents wouldn't let her have the mare. Although she does live with her parents, I thought she was old enough to make these kinds of decisions on her own. (I would say she's about 30 and has 2 kids.) If she would have told me up front that she had to check with somebody else about where she was going to keep the horse, I would not have taken her seriously. At one point, she took me over to where my mare was moved (her friend's place) and she said to me, "Don't tell her about the mare." Another sign that I didn't listen to. I was upset and told her so. She told me that nobody had ever treated her the way that I had treated her and I could just pick up my mare. So when I told her that she owed me money back for the training that didn't happen as well as unused board, she told me she didn't owe me anything! That was almost a week ago. What a flake. I picked my mare up today. BUT she discontinued training her after only about 2 1/2 weeks! AND when picking up my mare, I noticed that she had a BIG scrape on the front side of her back leg. When I said, "What happened to my mare's leg?" and looked up expecting an answer, this "trainer" had gone into the house.
This lady doesn't deserve to have horses, much less train them! I'm totally disappointed.
Oh, and I didn't see this little mini stud when I picked up my mare. She has either figured out a way to sell him, give him away, or she's otherwise disposed of him.
Sorry to vent, but I'm really kind of pissed about this!!!!!
