I have been wanting an excuse to go up there and paruse their mares for sale, there are some nice ones. I was looking at his Mom, which is how I happened across his photo. They only live an hour away. I could get more photos....dang that Mulie baby is cute. Dad is a registered Mammoth Jack.

Wow, he has some nice color! I'm curious to know what sort of personality his mom has. In other words, was he bred specifically for color and nothing else? I hope not, because he is something special.

His name is Smudge! I hope he wasn't just bred for color either.

Just a d**n shame they can't put $25 in to trimming her feet... heck, at least ONCE before you take pics for the internet ad! poor thing, carrying a baby, caring for another and most likely lame from those nasty feet that haven't seen a farrier all year

Poor thing. You are right Beth, they could have at least cleaned up her feet before taking a sale picture.

I know, they have some pretty nice quality horses, and keep them to a manageable number, but dang, I saw those feet and thought the same thing.

Do hooves chip off over there because it's dry? Or are they just negligent. I suppose even if they chip off, they don't chip off perfect.

It is pretty dry, and horses here tend to self trim on varied ground for the most part, so some folks only get the farrier out when they shoe for riding season. My barefoot trimmer comes every 8 weeks like clockwork, though, 'cause I am a fanatic about the feet. I figure no foot, no horse. My Paint, Gypsy, is making me nuts because her feet have NEVER been done, and we still are trying to get her in a halter and teach her some manners. Her feet look like this gal's, and are self trimming right now...she has several big chips coming off. Trimmer is coming out on Sunday, so I have until then to get that halter on her. Pray for me, she is a big girl, and I think she knows it....
