WILCO'S feedstore in Newberg, OR has agreed to take credit card orders over the phone to care for the 6+ horses that KIM PODEWITZ has rescued:
When you phone in an order, be sure to have them write your name down clearly, both on their order sheet/bill and on the hay/feed/supplements, etc. items to be sure I can track what you order and so that Kim knows who has donated the items. (IMPORTANT:You should also email me at sunnymilanna@yahoo.com telling me what you have ordered and the day and time you placed your phone order.)
IMPORTANT: SCOTT, WILCO'S Main Store Manager, has set up a pallet in the warehouse with CADILLAC RANCH'S name on it with KIM PODEWITZ'S name on it...so, when you phone in, be sure you place the order for "KIM PODEWITZ at CADILLAC RANCH". Be sure to remind the person you place the order with to call Kim to let her know that she has an order waiting for her. Scott said they would do this.
Here is what Kim's 5 rescued horses need:
1) Scott at Wilco is giving a discount on the Orchard Grass Hay regular sized bales: instead of $15.50 a bale he will let you, when you phone in, buy it at $13.49 a bale...and, 24 bales in a ton is $324.00.
2) Kim is also feeding Purina Equine Senior which is $17.49 per 50# bag.
3) Kim also needs to continue the worming program. She wormed all 5 horses 2 months ago with Safe Guard paste, so a different wormer will be needed in order to keep a rotation going, so, please order this wormer product:
***Ivercare paste which is $13.99. Each tube treats a horse up to 1200#. So, Kim will probably need 5 tubes.
4) The filly has severe ringworm, so, any product for ringworm that is safe for a young horse is fine.
When you call Wilco, ask for SCOTT who is the main store manager. If for some reason, he is not available, ask for MANAGEMENT, or, you can ask for the Lead Cashier, DANI. Please ONLY ask for these people so that the orders are processed properly and the products get put onto the Cadillac Ranch pallet in the warehouse. Speaking with a person at Wilco who is familiar with the donation program for KIM also better ensures your place in the contest (refer to my earlier "Help Save 6+ Horses and WIN PRIZES!!" posting).
WILCO at 503-537-2659
Hours:
Monday thru Saturday is 8am-8pm
Sunday 9am-6pm
5) The horses also need farrier work, including corrective shoeing. Some farrier work has already been done. Here is what Kim has to say re: her farrier: "he charges 40.00 for trim and for corrective shoes, with sole support gel and netting and corrective trim is $150.00, steel shoes and trim is $85.00...and just corrective trim is $75.00. The rest he charges for all depends on the horse.... and the needs at the time of service. My next appt with him is July 8, 2008 It has been running about $200.00 to 250.00 right now since the baby 4month old doesn't need to be done yet." PLEASE PHONE KIM TO FIND OUT HOW TO PAY THE FASRRIER IF YOU DESIRE TO DO THIS DONATION.
