This is a very complicated rescue effort..so here goes my best explanation.
One of the contractors with a vet school has 20 yearling he wants moved NOW, Dave has agreed to go pick them up & bring them to my place...so they will never set foot on the feedlot & QT won't be necessary. Here is the problem....
We have to have funds raised before he picks them up. If we can't take all 20 of them, they don't go to us, they go the Mexican guy for the rodeos. Cost of the yearlings is $130 each.
Here is my proposal. I don't have room to house 20 yearlings for more than a day or so. SO..if we can raise the funds, bring them here..then all of us email 4H groups or whoever...as long as they apply & are approved thru SOS for adoption, they can come & pick a yearling to take on a gift contract. I realize that YES, we are giving away funds..but I honestly just don't see any other way to do this given our circumstances.
So we need 20 x $130 = $2600.00 before Thursday, as as many homes as we can find for them.
If we can get these yearling's homes within a day or so, I won't charge any QT, but I can't afford to feed or house 20 yearling's for more than a day or so.
Like I said this is going to be a very BUSY week.
I am going to send out a email to all of the 4H leaders in our area, hoping that we can get some 4H homes for these guys.
