Ack! Missed it - I hope you had a happy day!! It was good to see you Sat even if it was just for a bit. I hope your kitty is okay! (Louie had to be taken to the vet for syringe feeding and meds while I was gone - he was NOT a happy boy)

Thanks everyone I had a decent day, but spent most of it worried about kitty. Took him to the vet again and clinically he is doing quite well, but for some reason is not eating. This is not good for a diabetic, so am pretty worried. He had all his teeth removed surgically last week and he's healing wonderfully. His glucose levels are not optimal, but not horrible either. I tempted him with Fancy Feast and he did well last night, but refused to eat it this morning. Both the surgeon and his regular vet are "baffled" by this. He hasn't lost much weight thank goodness, no temperature, no keyto's (sp) in the urine, no vommitting or other stomach problems, a little lethargic, but a pretty happy kitty otherwise. Well, the next step is to tempt him with baby food at lunch. I'm also picking up some dry which I will soup up for him. Wish me luck and thanks for all the Birthday wishes MTA: Caly, I hope Louie is feeling better!! Man, I've never had a sick cat. I don't know how you do it!!! Horses can be finicky and worrisome, but I have to say, cats must have invented the term "finicky", they are very good at it.

When mine had his teeth out at 14, (1984) we had to give him baby food and then he wanted the cheap stuff (Petuna) Mom had bought him some lamb/rice freeze and heat stuff but he wouldn't eat it.
Vet said one's good for him and one he'll eat... at his age, just give him the one he'll eat!
A month later I got a call that he was bleeding from his rear. Ran to moms hauled him to the vet and.. he had been munching dry food at the neighbors, cutting his gums and then cleaning his rear. LOL Mom saw blood spots and thought he had cancer or something!
