Well, the financial pressure's off a bit, and I think I can continue to afford Pippa, but I have to rehome Ed. I don't have the skill set to get him where he needs to be (though I think that it won't take much to turn him into an excellent trail horse, dressage partner, you-name-it). He's a hair under 16hh, a good looking bay. I've had him for about 2 years. Vet estimates him at about 7-8 years old now. He leads well, and I've done a little groundwork with him, but he really needs to start at the beginning. That being said, I think that he'd do well with some training. He's a treat hound and a fast learner. A little skittish at first, but then comes back around. He's head shy, but he's better about it than he used to be. I'm wondering if maybe someone at the July 11 camping trip at Tired Dog's would want to take him home with them? Here's a few pictures.

Caly asked me to make a video of him, so I overcame my fear of all things electronic and here's a little video of our guy. www.petsaretalking.com/ED.htmlMTA: I'll try to get a higher-res version of this soon. Thanks!

Well, your guess is as good as mine. I think he's an appendix. Crum thinks he's a throwback to those 1970's QH's like Clabber. He's from CBER. His name on the CBER lot was "Duke". They had him listed as a Dutch warmblood, but I think he's a QH/TB cross. His face is a little bit dishy, so I often wonder if there is an arab in his wayback history. He has a very kind eye. You can see that in the video. He was mugging my son for dried mango.

How is he with his feet, tying, brushing, etc?

He's great with his feet, and he ties very nicely, and he's pretty good with brushing. He'll hold still. He does better when you just have the lead rope in hand than if he's tied. Sometimes he will ground tie, but it usually helps if there is grass.

I am really concerned. I don't want to put him on Dreamhorse or Craigslist. I want him to go to a home that I know of, with people who are caring. He's in great health, but I really really really can't afford to keep him. I knew that as soon as I put in that electric fence at the farm they're staying at, the gal would find a buyer for the farm. There's an offer on the table now, and I think my good horse boarding situation is going bye-bye. I can't afford to board both of my horses, even at a pasture rate. Please, if you have it in your heart to take in my guy, please please please consider it.
