We are needing to buy a good quality saddle for our daughter she is now taking english lessons/vaulting and it would be nice for her to have a saddle at home to use and not juat at the trainers. So what is the best brand for a child's saddle? The trainer suggested a Stubben but they are hard to find in a 15-16" saddle and we need to buy used because they are very $$$$. Also what about the collegiate brand? Any advice would be great. Thank You

Ebay is good, just be careful as some saddles are poorly made, make sure you read the feedback from other buyers, that helps determain if the seller is good, ebay does have good deals, I bought my western saddle from ebay and it's great, good luck

If you have a Pony Club in your area, you might check in with them. I'm sure those folks have seen many saddles come and go, and could give you a good idea about which brands hold up well, which are priced right, etc. Good luck! Saddle shopping is one of those kind-of-fun/kind-of-horrifying things!

if she is just starting out and is not actually competeing yet - you might want to consider a wintec or bates saddle with the adjustable tree. It will fit a variety of horses and is fairly inexpensive - plus pretty easy to find in a 16 inch. The Isssabel dressage saddle fits about a size small - so 17 will fit a 16 inch pretty well . Sara
