Hello,
I know I havent posted on this board much since I joined but I do visit often and enjoy reading the posts. I have a rescue horse and was wondering if someone may have subcription to look up a OTTB. The tattoo number is Q31968 she is a chestnut mare suppose to be in her 20's.
Thank you in advance to anyone who might be willing to help.

Thanks for the response Tockita. I was trying to avoid having to pay the fee. I thought someone on this board may have a yearly subscription.

I don't think the JC does subsriptions that way. I think AQHA does though, right?

We know this much, Q = 1987, so she was 21 on 1/1/08. There's no way around paying the $35, unless you're a trainer or in the industry with a JC membership. This request has been posted many times on this BB, don't think anyone has been able to help with a free lookup so far. If you know her registered name, then you can look up her pedigree on TB Pedigree Query database: www.pedigreequery.com/Here's another helpful site: www.exracers.com/keely_article.htm

You can get pedigrees, and owner names from AQHA and APHA membership, but tattoo info is a bit different.
We tried to read Calypso/Starlit's tat and the best we could come up with was a horse named Honey Run (the last number was impossible to read but that is the one that matched sex and color. (they do not keep track of markings like other breeds do)
She would give them what we thought the number might be and if it didn't match, we were not charged until we got to Honey Run which did match.
That's as far as it went because they were not trying to get papers or talk to her old owners, just curious about her race career and stuff like that.
