Today is my 55 th birthday, and things have changed so much...
When I was born (Tacoma WA) my parents didn't have the 50.00 to bail me out of the hospital, my grandparents (Thomas & Alta Eckerd) paid the bill which grandpa always said "she was the most expense meat he ever bought"...
From day one all of us kids were in the berry field..Sleeping, eating or picking to make money...
How things have change...We would walk to the zoo (points Defiance) and play in the tide pools, look at all the different animals..
In Sumner, WA where the family farm was (the house and field is still there), we would work the fields year around...As the fields are more than just picking berries...
Corliss grave pit is above the farm and we would walk through the lush green trees up to Lake Tapps...NO worries of people hurting you, we were safe...
Now the pretty valley is freeways and houses...The farm are all in the past...
In 1967 we moved to Spokane WA...What a change, hot, hot and cold as hell...Before if we wanted snow, we would go to it not the other way around...
Being a farm family it didn't take long to move to the country...Life was kind of boring many years...
Graduated from Mead HS, got married/ had kids and divorced, was a chef's asst., manager of restaurants and C-Stores...
But in 1990 life changed with the robbery/murder of my cashrie..I managed until the court case was over and hit bottum...
One day I past the local fire station and WOW a sign "firefighters wanted"..Yes, at the age of 37 yo I became a firefighter...One year later added EMT to my titel...
12.5 years of fulfill a goal, helping the people I came in touch with daily...Loved doing it...
At 49 something was wrong and with many test was told I had TS..Seizers, lose of vision (left eye) and falling on my face alot...
Now I knew I had to something and saw a add for a skinny horse and from then to now..Life has come full circel...
55 years old, a great man (Bob), 8 kids, 21 grandkids and 3 great...All my horses, dogs, birds, cats....
