I bought hay from this jerk last summer. What a low life! He is very convincing on the phone, says he believes in taking good care of his customers, sells only the best hay, blah-blah-blah.
We ordered his good quality orchard grass. He brought us many tons of feeder hay. Delivered it eight hours later than promised in the dark of night. Said the bales were just bleached on the outside. Right. Solid garbage including LOTS of mold. He first seemed very concerned when I called him the next day-near tears. Within moments he escalated into rage. One creepy SOB.
He is located in McKenna, WA and is associated with Yellow Horses, Inc (his girlfriend I believe). They also ran that big barn (NW-something?) near Vancouver, WA into the ground. Left the place in horrible condition and with a stack of unpaid bills.
Just a scumbag trying to make a living off of others instead of getting a job. And no, he never made it right with our hay. Remember his name: Mark Broeg.

Without going into alot of detail - we got some hay from him last year. Got the first ton of absolutely beautiful orchard, rye, teff, clover blend - (did 1 ton first to see) and said, ya, I want whatever you have left- around 5 tons that he had. So - like you, they delivered near 11pm at NIGHT and a very creepy guy was here to unload(other guy seemed fine - kid making summer money) The hay looked ok on the outside and when I busted some bales before agreeing for them offload seemed fine. So - the unloaded to my barn and left. Well, we started counting bales and realized we got shorted by nearly a 1/2 ton! i called and they said I could come get it - lovely. When we picked up the remainder, it was moldy, smelled weird, was yellowed and whatnot. The lady there at the time said she saw no problems then proceeded to break and throw the bale of the fully moldy hay to her own horses.
Well - within about 3 days of getting the hay to our barn - our entire barn which was previously fly free(good management, fly predators, spraying, ect.) was so thick ith flys it looked like the walls were moving. I called them and they were more than rude and said "no way " not the hay. Well - it was the hay - it was filled with fly eggs(we had it tested)
After a long go around, they agreed to take the hay back via phone - then I never heard from them again.
Lesson learned - a friend/partner of mine who owns another barn had almost a full semi of this hay delivered in several batches since on first look it seemed fine. She had the most horrible fly and mold problem I have seen - and it was never remedied.
Live and learn! Hopefully these people get stopped - Money is hard to come by and with the prices of hay, I hate for people to be forced to feed fly egg infested hay because they can't afford to buy more.
Check before you buy - look at BBB websites and check with local hay growers to make sure they got paid for the hay!

That is good! I know some people got good hay from them - which I am happy to hear, but they scammed SOOOO many people and also were stiffing farmers for the hay they brokered. It was all a big mess.

Hi Ya'll, I am so sorry that scumbag "scr*wed" you on the hay!! How awful! Hay is so expensive anyways, then to pay all that money out to get "crappy" no-good hay..Sorry!
I just wanted to let everyone know that I live here in Selah, WA (right by Yakima) and get some very high-quality hay from just up the road from me. They are a great couple who moved from over by Tacoma, WA. (they had a dairy there). Their names are Teresa and Lyle (not sure of their last name but can get it if anyone wants it).... ANYWAYS, I have been paying $9.00 a bale for awesome Alfalfa hay and $9.50 for Alfalfa/grass & grass hay. (if you are interested, I can get the percentages for you).
Please if you are in need of hay give them a call (they gave me permission to put their number up here):

I used to buy hay from them at their farm and I always got really good hay. I emailed them off a google search in April or May and they said they were not selling any more hay. I am kind of bummed because they always had the best hay in our area. I wonder if they had some kind of financial trouble or something? Does anyone know of anyone who delivers besides Del's? I just cannot fathom paying the ridiculous 20.00 per bale PLUS delivery for the crappy stuff they have.

I know some people did get good hay from them - the problem? they were not paying alot of the farmers that they were getting it from. Anyways - Call Hy Grass in enumclaw. They can arrange full truckloads delieverd, BUT you have to offload - although, you can run a quick ad on craigslist and get about 100 responses. pay by the truck/ton unloaded though - not by the hour Who is jellybelly?
