Ok - for anyone out here in the port orchard area - around Carney Lake/Jim dickenson/Hwy 3 and are missing some cattle - look like belgian blue/brama crosses maybe - still have horns and are tagged - give me a PM. The state patrol chassed them for over 4 miles up and down the road and at one point had them run in my front pasture - BUT - being cows, they promptly mowed down and went through my electrobraid. They are not tame enough to work with much, but I do knwo where they were as of an hour ago. Pass the word on if you are in the area and know someone who has some cattle of this description that may be missing them. All seemed to have horns and are good sized cattle. Very skiddish(could be from a long day) I am more concerned about the amount that they have traveled to day and the lack of water on the route. Some did drink briefly while we had them rounded up - but many looked sucked up.
would like to see them get home before a car hits one!! I am awake and in the area, so if you need help pushin them home, let me know!

BBQ anyone? hehe
Seriously after being chased for 4 hr. you'd have thought they would have called someone it to actually capture the little buggers.

Yeah, why don't the call a cowboy with a real cowhorse?? We had a problem in a little town about an hour from here with an real bad tempered cow that got loose and was chasing people and pets out of their own yards. Gave the cops a real black eye, literally, one of them got tossed! Someone finally called a friend of theirs who had a roping horse, and he and the cowpony went and roped and tied Ms. Naughty Cow, and then loaded her up and took her home.

I actually saddled my old man up(BEST cow horse i have ever had or ridden!- but now has a serious bum knee) Gave him 2 grams of bute and was able to finally push the cattle up to a pen at a neighbors about a half mile from my house. The cattle were tired so it was not too hard - there was about 20 or so. Getting them out of the heavy brush was the hard part. I have no idea if the owner was found. Although - my great old man had the time of his life having a COW job again. He was amped up and moved like a 5 year old lol. Of course - he paid for it the next day something fierce. We iced his knee and DMSO packed it. He is better this morning - but it was great to see him SOOOOOOO happy and exicited. That is the first time he has been ridden or worked cattle in almost 2 years since he was retired from his knee! Would not normally have saddle him up - but no one else had a horse that knew ANYTHING. At one point I was on a neighbors horse and they were on 2 of their others. ALL of them were basket cases and horrified of the cattle. LOL Ummmm so that was not going to work. But - my old guy saved the day!
Sherrifs did call animal control as well as fish and game and no one would come out at all - so police and nice neighbors had to wrangle them.
After the whole ordeal though - my other half made the comment "Maybe we should talk about getting you another cow horse." YIPEEEEE - he is the "NO MORE HORSES" guy. He likes them - but the cost is a deal killer! So - looking at bringing up a solid horse from the ranch once they get some of the 4 year olds a little farther along!
So - that is what happened lol.
