Im looking for a good spot to buy alphalfa, we have been getting it at Schoenbachler's Hay in Orting but due to some problems we have had with their workers damaging our trucks tailgate (its a long story). I want to get our barn full of alphalfa before winter so looking for a good place to start getting hay. We live in Graham so does anybody recommend someone? We will be buying a ton at a time and have been paying $13 per bale. Dont want to go to EPH, we have been burned there with them not taking back bad bales of hay

I'm looking to stock up on hay too. I went to the feed store in town and they only had 6 bales of alfalfa and half were molded! Yreka, CA area. Just moved here over the weekend.

If you are able to take a full or 1/2 semi at a time call Dayville in Snohomish. Theyw ill deliever all over western washington and only charge a VERY small amount to deliver if you take at least a 1/2 truck. They also guarantee the hay completely - so if you are buying hay in smaller batches that is good too - they will deliver smaller amounts, but not sure what the delivery charge is. If you can go get your hay, check Hy-Grass in Enumclaw. Ask about the premium alfalfa - they have cow hay so you have to ask about the good stuff They will load it on your truck for you. Cash or Check only there - no cc's. I am working on contracting currently some hay to "share" but won't have any alfalfa Sara

I am waiting to hear today for my own personal hay. I am not positive on price yet - I have a feeling it is going to be more than I care to pay, but since we are completley out at this point I have to do something. I am trying to get some teff/Orchard blend in the 3 string bales - around 125 pounds each - They are not as "woman" friendly, but transport on the bigger ones is a little less. I will be bringing in some of the BIG 5 stringers later on.

Beckybee,
This is very north, 14 miles from the Oregon border! I can't believe how nice people are up here- I mean Everyone is nice. I went into Medford today, it's only about a half hour away, so does anyone know of a good hay source in Oregon? Most of my ponies actually eat only grass hay, but I need the alfalfa for Lotus. So I mostly need good grass, 3 string bales for hopefully less than $17 a bale! I get a couple tons at a time.

Hey Becky - go to Klamath falls for hay - MUCH better than the medford/grants pass area. I suggest calling the flemmings - pm me for number. Also - just get a little nickel and start calling. I know that many people are able to pick up absolutely awesome grass hay in 3 tie bales for around $150-$175 a ton Sara
