Well - tomorrow is the first time I am hauling Ms. Malibu out. I have been working her here at home and she has been lightly ridden now 3 times. Considering what happened with her foot a year ago - this is nearly a miracle that she has recovered to this point. We had been told by several vets that we should put her down. I am hauling over to a friends arena in enumclaw tomorrow to actually saddle up and give a TRUE first ride all tacked up. I am expecting she will do wonderful - BUT, this is also the first time I have hauled my new trailer with my new truck lol. Everything has been checked, double checked, and re-checked....so....should be fine lol. BUT - first are always nerve wracking.....lolol. So - wish us luck! Hopefully i will have pictures to post Sara

Well - we had a great trip over to the arena - but no ride today. I hit my head VERY hard this morning and was pretty dizzy - so figured, not the best day to ride. BUT - I worked her in the arena on ground work, giving, bending, ect. and did hope up on her bareback and work on her bending, sidepassing, hindquarter yeilding and whatnot. She did great!! the trailer ride stressed her some - but she was much more relaxed on the way home. The only real issue today was how stressed she was in the trailer - AND, that she was horrified to back out of the trailer. I want her to learn to back out rather than turn around - so we worked on that some when we got home. I look forward to moving forward with her - she moved beautifully today - Just BARELY had a short stride on her left rear - I don't think it would be noticable if you didn't know The boys were glad she was home(Kadin -and LB) but quickly proceeded to beat her up.... NOT nice. Geez..... I am off to take a shower and have some lunch!! Sara unfortunately I was all alone, so don't have any pictures of us together this time.

I'm so glad she's doing well! She will get used to the trailer again!
You take care of yourself!! I wacked my head hard a couple years ago, but since I didn't have a headache/dizzy/etc, didn't think anything of it. Next morning woke up with the mother of all headaches, but again - I get migraines - so didn't think much of it. Later that afternoon......ended up in the hospital having a CT! Turned out I actually had a nasty concussion!! So - watch yourself!

Geez Caly! LOL I have had alot of head knocks bad enough to keep me in the hospital over night. (Naturally clumsy I think) So now - even small jolts tend to make me kind of dizzy. This was just plain stupid - I dropped my tooth brush on the floor and when I bent over to pick it up I smacked my forehead HARD on the counter lol. Bit the snot out of my tongue too.... i will be fine - but figured doing a full out, saddled up - working type ride was not the best choice when Iw as not 100%. i don't worry about Malibu hurting me, but I don't want to do something to startle or scare her - she is very sensitive and stresses kind of easy. But - over all i would call the day a success! I am figuring before summer is over, I will have her out on a trail Sara
