We've got some people moving to the Portland/Vancouver area in a few weeks (end Aug/begin Sept) and there are 2 adult cats who need a place to stay during the transition. "Daisy May" and "Black Bart" are healthy, friendly, indoor only, dog and kid saavy cats. All their expenses would be paid. They would just like to avoid boarding them since it could last 2-3 months. (A house needs to be sold and a new house purchased and escrow close. The place they have found to rent in the meantime can't accomodate them) Worst case, we'll take them here, but that isn't a whole lot better than boarding..and their mom will be so far away. Anyone want to love on some loving cats for a bit? Thanks! Caly

Caly, I don't know anyone to take them into their own home as most people have kitties already. I have an FIV positive cat otherwise I would help....but I do know the people who own Kitty Condos and it is a great place and much like home, they treat every kitty like their own and they get their own room.....check it out www.kittycondos.com/rates.htmAshley

Wow! Thank you! That looks like a nice place! They're really hoping to find a private home for them - partly cause of cost (it could run into a couple thousand to board in a large "room" for 3 months, if it takes that long; and partly cause the cats *are* used to having a lot of attention from their human servant.
A good friend of mine runs a similar-looking place down here (in Santa Cruz.) People are always so amazed when they see it - the norm is the "cage" thing - even with places that have a big room for "kitty turn out." I'm so glad to know there is one up there!
I think they'd be fine with other cats - but the resident cats might not be fine with them. LOL! And, I totally agree with FIV+ precautions. My FIV+ cat (Kayla) tends to be a bit fractious (the cali-tude, y'know?) so she's not allow to "play" with the others cause she cannot be counted on the "play nice."
Perhaps if we all network there might be someone who misses having cats, but doesn't have any cause they travel or they've retired recently and don't want to be "tied down"; but would love to have a couple feline guests for a short while. We find people like that around here for fostering - hoping to network to find one up there. :-)
