BEACH RIDING ON VANCOUVER ISLAND

I FINALLY GOT TO GO RIDING ON THE BEACH, WOO HOO. NEXT TIME THOUGH, TAKING SOMEONE WHO CAN RIDE REALLY GOOD SO I CAN GALLOP MORE. HUBBY VERY NEW AT THE RIDING THING,BUT NEAR THE END HE GOT BRAVE AND DID A LOPE. WENT SWIMMING, AT ONE POINT WE DIDN'T REALIZE HOW DEEP IT WOULD BE AS ON THE WAY OUT THERE WAS A SAND BAR, ON WAY BACK, IT WAS UP TO THE HORSES THROAT. MY HORSE LEXI MADE ALL KIND OF FUNKY NOISES WHEN SHE SWAM, I WAS CONCERNED SHE WAS GOING TO DROWN AND FORGOT ABOUT MY CAMERA, IT GOT A TAD WET AND IT CEASED TO WORK, BUT HAS SINCE DRIED UP AND CAME BACK TO LIFE FOR ME, WHEW.
I DID GET TO DO SOME GALLOPING THROUGH THE WATER, WAS SO MUCH FUN, GOT SOAKED. THE ONE PIC LEXI HAS HER TONGUE OUT, SO FUNNY, DON'T THINK SHE LIKED THE TASTE OF THE SALT WATER EITHER.

Your so lucky, we are going to be going to the beach this weekend. Its Turtle's first time, and when he gets nervous he sounds like the cartoon character speedbuggy........So I expect to have him make a lot of those noises. I dont think we will get anywhere near the water and thats okay. If he behaves and we can ride in the sand dunes I will be happy.

Emjay !! You look to be having some fun. We were at the beach also that day but in Pacific City Oregon. We had a blast also. Glad to see you got your hubby on a horse too. Great pictures as always ;D Glad you had a good time PL

Don't forget to clean all of your tack really well after riding in the salt water. The last time I rode at the beach I took my Wintec synthetic dressage saddle. When I got home I just hosed it off with lots and lots of water. That was so much easier than cleaning my leather western saddle.

The beach is so much fun.
