Here is a recent press release from the Sonoma County, CA "Change" Rescue -- this is the same program which rescued Argus, who went to Katie Moore (watermarkfarm): www.sonomachangeprogram.com/cases.htmMINIATURE HORSES Dr. Miller received a phone call at 4 AM from the CHP and Sonoma County Animal Control that several miniature horses were running loose on Stony Point Road. Dr. Miller arrived to find 3 terrified miniature foals shivering in a group. The CHP and Animal Control very gently herded them into a driveway and held them there. On the same property, a pony mare was found tied to a tree with no food or water. All of the horses were all taken into custody immediately. They were trailered by the CHANGE Program to a secure CHANGE foster barn nearby. Once in custody, all of the animals received complete veterinary care including physical exams, foot trimming, deworming and diet formulation. One foal had a foxtail in its eye that was removed. Another foal had an upper respiratory infection that was treated. The owners of the animals completed an educational session with Dr. Miller and they were given a list of tasks that they had to complete before the animals could be returned to them. The owners are complying with this list and Dr. Miller is overseeing the animal's care. The Animal Control Department is also keeping tabs on the owners to make sure that these animals receive proper care from now on. P.S. Here is Katie's blog re: Argus: savingargus.blogspot.com/2007/12/saving-argus-how-horse-survived-10.html

oh joy, they let them keep them. I'm SURE they love them... and had NO idea that the baby had a FOX TAIL in its EYE... or another had PNEUMONIA... those things are so HARD to tell... and not EVERYONE knows animals need food and WATER... and can't live tied up to a tree in 95 degree heat...
I'm so glad they didn't go do anything RASH like CONFISCATE the poor creatures... grrrrrrr....

Oh please let's just give the owner's another opportunity to kill them. I can't believe how this system works. I'ts almost as bad as CPS! They won't remove them until their dead or severly injured!
