Hey Kids, I have a 82 inch (draft horse size) Weatherbeeta Medium Weight Waterproof blanket Navy Blue w/ Hunter trim. It is in excellent condition, no rips or holes and has been professionally cleaned. Has tummy straps and leg straps and tail cover. It doesn't fit either of my horses. What I need is a Light- Medium weight waterproof blanket in a size 76 or 78. Prefer tummy straps and legs straps. If anyone wants to trade let me know!! Ashley

Bummer - wish it was a size 87 - that would fit Malibu! But - an 81/82 is too small for my kids. have you looked on ebay? or horseloverz.com both have good deals on blankets. Sara

a note on the mcalister blankets - if your horse is thick through the front - such as a draft -they don't fit But - if you have a thinner built horse they seem to fit well. I got 2 size 90 blankets last year and I can't get them closed in the front - they are about 9-12 inches from closing. everything else about them is nice though Sara

crikey! I'll let y'all know if they work on my guys or not. For the price it was worth a shot. We still have a couple months before we "need" blankets so I have time still.

Wow, maybe they redesigned the McAlister blankets because they are pretty roomy overall.
Manny is 15h and 1000lbs, I got him a 76 and it is maybe a bit big (buckled on tightest holes). Raz is 16.3h and probably 1250lbs - I got him an 80. He's buckled on the 3rd from last buckle. I think it's okay. I may get him a 82. I got Web a 78, but he ain't letting it anywhere near him!
The construction seems really good, nice shoulder gussets, fabric looks really durable (1680 denier). I'm very impressed, especially for $34! I just got the lightweight and will get some fleece liners to adjust warmth.

Good to hear! I am figuring that the cut is fine for standard size horses - just for the drafties they are too small in the chest and not long enough drop on the sides But of course..... doesn't seem like manyh are!! Sara

I'll take a pic with Raz's on him. He's pretty rounderfull, plus has those *high* withers, and they have a lot of coverage down the sides. I went ahead and ordered him an 82 and I will get Manny a 74. They also had McAlister fleece liners for $10!
So if Atticus, if you want the 76, I'll sell it for the price I paid ($39) with free shipping. I'll just want to make sure the 74 fits Manny better before I send off the 76. Want me to take any measurements on Manny to compare with your horse for sizing?

Hey kids - was in oregon over the weekend and found VERY VERY nice Weaver 1200D(not waterproof) 440 gram fill fitted style stable blankets on sale at Big R for $39.99. They are very nice blankets- I was not sure if they fit small or true so only got one for my old guy in a size 78 - but it fits BIG! Which is perfect for stable blankets - want them to be comfy!
These blankets retail for $99.99 or higher - so if you are anywhere near a Big-R you might go check to see if they have these if you need actual stable blankets. I have not had weaver blankets before and I have to say - I was REALLY impressed with how well this oen is put together and the fit.
also found a NEW RamboXL size 90 with 300 fill on ebay and ended up getting it for $98! So - check ebay for sure! The rambo xl blankets generally sell for around $350-$400ish!
