So my dog some how got a small puncture wound around his flank area. It happened yesterday and does not seem to hurt should I do anything. My friend that is a dog groomer was worried it might abscess. She thought I should put peroxided on it.
Thanks

Agree with Tasha's advice above. If it is deep at all - needs to be seen by a vet. your pooch probably will need a better dressing and antibiotics.

I had a goofy lovable dalmatian that thought everyone just wanted to play-well-not so much with my cousin's JRT-get this-we were camping but the obnoxious little dog (and might I add SMART) had gathered the rope he was tied up with into a small pile then lied down there and wimpered-so my bubba dog goes over to say "Hey little buddy-what's the matter?" and the terrier lunged up and caught him in the flank-used his body weight to swing beneath him and although the tear to the skin was minimal-the muscles beneath actually needed stitches and in a different place than the outside tear-so you couldnt see it unless you moved the break in the skin all around. I would get a vet to check him out-skin is movable and esp if you don't know what happened- best of luck for a speedy recovery-how is he today?

I will try and get a picture today but no heat not swelling nothing different about him I can touch the area so I don't know. The kid next door was walking his dog down the street without it being on a leash and my dogs were barking at it when I opened the door to have them come in he was yelping. I first thought the other dog bit him through the fence but I don't know its just one little hole. I checked the area and no sticks or anything on the fence that could have got him. I will put a call into the vet and see what they think. Crazy animals!

Better safe than sorry....I'd see what the vet says and try to get him seen.
