This filly is GORGEOUS. She is 3 years old and did not race. She needs to recover from a bowed tendon and that is it! She is located in Auburn, WA:

Susan, One more post like this from you and you will be forever banned to RO eternity! I do feel there is something really special about this horse, which is why I'm trying to find her a good home. Yes, I would LOVE to take her, but I just bought a two horse trailer which limits me to only two horses, ha, ha! Seriously, I think this is a really nice horse. When I "found" Jamaica, there was something special in her eyes, and I see that in this one as well.

what are her prospects for future? My 12 year old step daughter does 4-H and wants to do more hunter/jumper. We are not talking serious hours and hours hard riding a day stuff-she is more casual at this point. Would several months off (like till next summer) be enough recovery time? thanks Lisa

With time and rest, horses can recover completely from a bow. I don't know when the bow occurred, but odds are she is already on the road to a good recovery.
That being said, this horse will need time to be developed into a H/J for a 12 year old. Does your step daughter have someone to train with?
I would love to see this horse go to someone on this board.

Who here has a contact number for this horse? We would like to look at her and ask a few questions. Is she a hard keeper? respectful of fences? people? any issues-health or personality? My hubby just married me-so we have a ong way to go before he threatens divorce :-) LOL

You lucky lady!!! She is one stunning mare. Very classy. My Lotus is a classy Tbred mare. and lucky that your hubby helps you with chores. Once the fence is built it's up to me to do the rest. I just don't ask if we can have another horse anymore, (I already know his answer) I just wait until he notices---After a week and a half went by and he didn't notice Lotus(a 16.2 hand mare!)the suspension was killing me, I just had to tell him. She is his favorite now. I wonder how long it will take him to notice the suffolk punch we are getting next week... So WW, hope you will post more pics of this beautiful mare.

Thank you! We are excited-I went to look at her and he joined me-and she is a total sweetheart-the gal that takes care of the horses there has known her since she was born-and really cares for her, had lots of pictures, mom is still on site etc-no psycho inducing abuse in this mare's background. (maybe she will reconcile me with the breed) I spent over an hour and a half there today. she is very calm and has a nice demeanor-kind eye. She bowed her tendon on August 15 and is off stall rest and in a small paddock, seems to be recovering, nicely. Will have as many months as she needs to relax and recover, then start working with her. I am trying to figure out how to get the cel phone pictures onto my computer. Right now we are planning on bringing her home Monday afternoon.

Karen just called this morning-she had review some paperwork and the bow actually happened September 18th, she ran a 3 furlong workout, placed 1st of the 5, and had the bow happen. So-only a month out from injury-she will have more time for just R&R before we do anything. That being said-she is a sweetheart and has really nice ground manners-we are going to spend some time this morning getting her paddock and stall ready.-will take pictures with a real camera when we get her home. :-)

beckybee, No, I wish. It's my haulers steady eddy bombproof gelding. He's just sitting in the pasture, so he's on his way to my house at the end of the month. It will be so nice to just hop on and hit the trail. Isn't he cute? Sorry to steal the thread. i am very excited for you and your new mare WW:) Cynthia

Congratulations!!
Hilary is such an amazing find and I'm so happy to know she is going to a great home. I would have taken her myself if I thought I had the time for three, so I'm thrilled that she will loved and well taken care of and will have a new career.
WW you are so lucky to have a MWH. He's a keeper!
I insist you keep us updated with photos of Hilary.

WW,
I have to say again I'm so happy this worked out for all of you. Painted Lady was so right, I was really tempted to bring Hilary down here to California. I even sent an email to Caly and put her in charge of making sure I didn't take her! (truth be told; she was no help...hee, hee).
She really is a beautiful girl. High five to you for being smart enough to take her!

she was actually born in June of '04 the origional post was a year off. she is 15'3-so a pretty good size. We got home and the smallest pasture is right next to the one where Joe and Krissie were-THEY got all excited when we pulled up with the trailer-the other 2(George and Lex) are at my friends acreage right now(Krissie and Lex have been together for years and Joe and George have been together since June o6)-so we moved them(J&K) to their old pasture across the barnyard and got them fed first so they wouldn't be just across the fence from Miss H. She waited patiently in the trailer, then we unloaded MH I walked her around the peremiter of her space a while (in the dark) stayed with her a while-she whinnied a few times when I turned her loose-but Joe and Kris realized she wasn't who they were looking for and they had dinner to eat-I am sure they will be more interested again tomorow. MH was calm-comes right up to the fence when you call her and is really really doing well. So I finally came inside to cok dinner and went out and checked her again-and apparently she doesn't like either clams, onions or garlic or something-she smelled my hand and did the goofy lip flip thing. I promised her I am sure she will find my molasses cookies much more to her liking. Hubby will come home on his lunch break tomorrow and check on her, and I will get photos when I get home and it is actual daylight. AM tired-but at least the rain stopped and the traffic wasn't bad on the way home.-the wind on the bridge was bad when we headded out-even that was much calmer on the way home. WHEW

She is a lot more interested in the other two than they are of her. She whinnies at em across the barnyard and they don't even talk back-poor gal-she is lonely but I can't mix em all up or she might get too excited and run around and reinjure herself. Here are pix I just took. She didn't eat all her dinner last night in her stallso I fed her outside this morning and there is still some from then too. talking to Joe and Kris her stall in background-we took the hotwire off the front fence cause we weren't sure how she would do with that right off.
