Our very own Founder and President Jill Starr has been nominated for the Animal Planet's Hero of the Year Award!
Jill was nominated by Traer Scott, author of soon to be released book, Wild Horses - Endangered Beauty. You can order that book from Amazon.com. Photos of some of Lifesavers horses are featured in Traer's book.
Please follow the link below and it will take you to the voting page for the 10 finalists. Look them all over and if you feel that Jill is worthy of your vote, please put a mark in her circle.
This is an awesome way to support Jill and her dedication to the horses. She has touched so many lives both equine and human and I believe she well deserves this recognition not to mention Lifesavers will put the funds to good use.
Pass this along to who ever might be interested.
We have stiff competition. The final judgement is not based only on how many votes we get though it makes up a % of the decision so the more the better.
The award is $10,000 and our horses could sure use that!
Thanks for your support.

The folks at Lifesavers have become very special to us in the three years since we first took our Mustangs to their first Lifesavers Clinic.
It is a place truly dedicated to horses, especially wild ones. Jill works hard on sending out bulletins about pending issues, letters and petitions to be signed to help save mustangs and other horses from danger, assessing "unwanted" horse solutions, and cruelty to horses where ever it is found.
They have an excellent VERY affordable series of clinics dedicated to helping horses and humans build happy long term relationships.
Jill even traveled to Australia to help them start a Brumby program, and teach Least Resistance training to Brumby loving Aussies.
She has built not only the ranch, but has opened a Born to be Wild Sanctuary where formerly abused Wild Horses can live as naturally as possible. Animal Control from 3 counties (and So Cal counties are not small! especially not L.A. County) bring her wild horses they impound, or capture wandering. (Sometimes they have to call the Lifesavers folks to do the actual capturing)
You can read a bit about Lifesavers and what they do on their webbie
wildhorserescue.org/
or their bloggie
wildhorserescue.blogspot.com/
and you can even find You tube Videos of life at the ranch and sanctuary made by some of their supporters.

If you want to know how I REALLY feel about Lifesavers ... This is something I wrote about how their staff, facility, and clinics have affected our lives..

And then like Chris said IF you feel Jill and the animals at Lifesavers deserve your vote please vote for Jill.
Thanks much
