Darn you Nancy! (he he) I talked to Kelly and she and I were both screwed out of $ by Trina Kenney last year. I feel compelled to help her out, and she knows the mare will be going to a good home. This big momma will be coming to me next weekend. I'll keep you posted.

You're quite welcome. So what does incentive fund eligible mean? Does it have to do with racing?[a href="http://[del:icehorse]"]http://[del:icehorse][/a]

I love her already and I haven't even met her:) She'll be here next sat. when you know, you know[a href="http://[del:icehorse]"]http://[del:icehorse][/a]

Your Welcome!
I think Lotus and Lola are going to be a cute pair of mares. I never thought I'd own thoroughbreds, but thier personalities are sure growing on me. Just so you know, I told her I'd take her mare even without seeing pictures or knowing her name-following Joe's example.
Kelly does have another nice gelding that is very broke and around 16.3, even kids can ride. He is free to excellent home. Their ranch is in Chico.

Oh, BTW, the Incentive Fund is money that AQHA has in a 'bank' to pay show fees for horses from Stallions who are trying to get points towards their 'get' I think, something like that.... it's a show thing

Here is what she told me about the gelding: Also, if you know anyone wanting a TB gelding, I have one also, he is 16.3, he is a bit thin right now but gaining weight, he had an infected canine and had to have it removed...so he is gaining steadily... he is free also to an awesome home.... He is totally broke, would need a refresher but taught my daughter to post, and turns on haunches etc...might make a good school master , he was trained in dressage and as a hunter...has some hock changes but is maintained on MSM and Vit. C.....he is a gentle giant... his name is Elliott... here is a pic

Regarding Incentive Fund... Its an AQHA program that pays money to exhibitors and breeders of point earners. In other words, the stallion owner pays to have his horse included in the IF program, then when foals of those stallions are born, they are eligible to be an "Incentive Fund" horse if nominated as a weanling. Weanling owners pay a one time fee at registration ( this is optional, used to be $100) and from there on, any points earned recieve X number of dollars for each point. The figure is based on the total fund. For example if they figure out that in 2007 each point a QH earns in an AQHA show would equal $25, then a horse earning 10 points would be paid $250 at the end of the year. Breeders and nominators, if not still the owners of the foal, also earn a percentage for each point earner. Many of the largest breeders earn 10's of thousands of dollars in this program and the horse itself is said to be worth more if it is in the incentive program. The $$$ amount changes each year based on participation, but someone showing alot could stand to earn some decent money to help offset expenses.

Thanks for the clarification Heidi. Lola arrived just an hour ago and is settling in like she's always been here. She seems very happy, she's sweet, beautiful, and likes her little house. I am just thrilled! Thank you Nancy for posting this! She doesn't seem to be limping on her horrible feet, they really look bad, but we'll get those fixed up right away. pics coming soon.

YAYAYAYAY! We love happy endings!
C - your smile in that picture says it all ... and if this mare could smile, she'd be grinning ear to ear since I'm certain she knows she just won the horsey lottery coming to live with you!
So, we are going to need more pictures, please!!
