Lone Oak rescue- Livermore

Hello all,
for those of you who recall, I am in Livermore, I started my little herd with 2 horses from Washington,(CBER) (Mahogany and Missy).Then an Arab (Duke) a pregnant pony, (Hannah and Toby) 2 national show horses,(Zaida and Bree) a mustang,(Apollo) an Arab( Kalib)and a thoroughbred(Monroe) of these 2 have been rehomed and my baby Toby had to be put down
We are not relocating to Washington
We are staying in California, and are working on better facilities. We are going to build a stable for 10 and have a small work area thats covered so we can do ground work in the off weather. The rescue is on private land in the middle of 140 acres. It currently has cattle as well, but hoping that can change to all rescue operation. I have my 7 and receive no help with costs and care, aside from my boyfriend , we are solo.
I do all the feeding and cleaning and care (vet and farrier)of my 7 and assist with 3 others mon-fri. needless to say sometimes work falls behind. I am looking for another pair of hands, that are experienced in the care and handling of horses, to help out with general care, chores, feeding and working them. The ideal person would be local and have flexible times to help out, I am not offering money but once things get settled I would offer one of the spots for your own horse, be that one of my rescues or a new one. cost of board and feed would be $100 a month. I would be nice if this person would also be a believer in rescues as I need to get the rescue officially off the ground and need another board member.
I am selling a couple of saddles to get some funds to buy materials and supplies for the barn and pens. Any donation of any type is welcome......thanks

COngratulations on being able to reorganise, and start afresh. I wish I was closer......that's the sort of 'job' I'd like to have.

The ground has been broken, hard as a rock so we're changing to machine power, hope to have the first building up next week.
Have a wonderful volunteer who cleans pens, grooms and lunges, I think I am going to adopt her as a daughter several others who are coming to help out so getting on our feet.
Still have some tack to sell or trade, with funds going to the rescue. Looking for a hotwalker if anyone has one you don't need. will post pics and details as we progress. Email is [e-mail]

Belinda's doing a great job out there....unfortunately although I'm a mile away as the crow flies, work, son's sports, Guide Dogs, and Reno are keeping me busy but I hope to get up there soon at least for a day to help out. So if anyone could help that would be great!!!

We have a new volunteer who has training experience, coached for UCDavis equestrian team and is pre vet, she has a great hand with the horses, hoping she gets into school here... also have 3 others who help with cleaning, grooming and errands,
if any of you are reading this, I'm singing your praises!!!! The ground work continues...

I'm in hayward, I can't help on a consistant basis cuz my schedule is a little messy, but if you'd like I can help. I'm very good at retraining ground manners, and can exercise (in saddle and on the ground). I'm also a whiz at cleaning and organization, and I'm VERY athletic which means I'm great for labor, and I've got a good hand at fixing things. Let me know if I can be of service.

We are up on the hills and can see the snow just a few miles away, might even get some at the stables tonight.We do have extra room for temp holds but not the facilities set up, we need additional shelter, panels or blankets if anyone can help has items for sale or wants to donate supplies of any sort to help set up, we can possibly provide emerg temp homes for some like the paint in Napa. Our latest rescue. Keeva, a sweetheart of a girl who will stay with us as my partners horse, she is 16.2 but only 3 1/2 years old, and looks like a big baby yet.... here's some pics.

I lucked out and have the breeders, farrier and vet contact info and I had a few nice chats about Keeva. She was born with a slight club on her right foot, it was improving with corrective trims, she was injured in transport in June, she was never treated to the point of being sound, so now she needs medical treatment for pulled tendon, stall rest, corrective trims to help her improve the club and then further training. She does have the sweetest personality, and great ground training started by the breeder. Nothing has been done with her since purchase in June. But once sound can resume training.
