Oh Man! Sorry to hear that news Chatty, but I know you both are fighters and can lick the big C! Tell Bob to just knock it back down and not let it up! Seriously, I do know one lady who may be able to take one, she would like her next one to be rideable if you have any of those?? She has taken in old, skinny, etc etc and recently lost the one I placed with her after 2 years to colic. I will pass the word around too. Many thoughts and prayers your way! H

chatty - I am so sorry to hear of your future struggles. I went through cancer treatments several years ago - went the full round. Chemo, radiation, injection therepy, you name it. It was miserable and very tough - BUT it is amazing the new treatments available and the new options that are out there. I STRONGLY suggest you guys take all of your test results and get a 2nd review at the Cancer care alliance here in seattle. If you can't come direct - call over and see if you can fax results. It is because of them and Swedish that I am alive - the care was wonderful and because I didnt have insurance at the time and many of the doctors and clinicians saw me for free hang in there - and find a support group - it is amazing how much it can help you. AND - although you need to be strong for your guy - remember, it is equally as important that you take time and care for yourself. If you need to talk to someone who has completely been through it - personally - to the extreme - feel free to pm me.... I am so sorry. Sara

Let me echo Sara's endorsement of Swedish.
A number of years ago one of my closest friends had breast cancer and had her initial treatment at Stanford. The care was excellent and she went into remission and stayed there for nearly 5 years.
A couple months after she moved to Seattle (hubby job xfr) it came back. Raging back. It wasn't unexpected - she had the worse DNA on the planet - and she was a little nervous about being in away from "her team". But, the care of the whole person was so much better at Swedish. She had Dr. Gold and we both LOVED him. (I went back and forth during that time.)
Prayers coming your way!

Oh, I'm so sorry, chatty. On the positive side is they found it and can start treatment. Give Bob a hug (or 20!) from us - he sounds like he has a great attitude and is a fighter.

Was exposed to agent orange (5 out of the 7 regions exposer)...Becuase of the onset of medical problems 4 year ago, was given 100% disabilitie.. This cancer is one of many that go with the agent orange exposer.. I'm proud of him and how he keeps a smile on his face +'s all the jokes he loves to tell.. His sisters are up from Yakima valley, son / granddaughter also are here from Cal. so keeping him busy this week with visiting... Gos Bless You All...chatty

I will still evaluate horse for rescues and try to help owners keep their horses....Just can't take care of all my kids on bad days...Bob worries to much when I'm out there by myself...He doesn't need to worries about me, need to keep a positive out look... I can fine good, understanding homes for them too... Otherwise we're doing OK today......God Bless You All chatty

Chatty, I ask my sister in law about the birds. She has saved and adopted other exotic birds before and placed several while living in Hawaii. She lives on a farm over by Puyallup and has several rescue horses I placed with her too. I could certainly ask her and have her contact you, etc. PM me your phone number.

OKAY Guy's I have offered to take Thunder and have arranged a ride from Spokane to Yakima is there anyone that will be comming over the mountains that could bring him over... I am trying to do a pipeline to cut the costs. If anyone is going to be coming over to the west side and can fit a 4 to 5 month old foal in that would be wonderful.

She will charge I think 250.00 for transport. I was hoping that we could find a less expensive way if I have to use them I will but if someone is coming back with another horse I was hoping to hitch a ride for him.

Chatty, can you send me some more photos of Camas? We aren't seeing the traffic on her that we should on the Petfinder site. Sometimes switching out the photos helps. Where are all you folks looking for a well trained trail mount? Reno is your guy!!

I hope you decide to send Thunder with another horse in the trailer with him. That poor little guy was one scared pony in the trailer by himself.

Chatty, I am sorry to hear about your husband. He sounds like a fighter though. Good luck on finding homes for all your horses. You are facing a deliema I have thought about before. What if something happened to myself or my husband? What would happen to the horses?
I am happy to see that many are rallying around to help you out.

We recently had a wake up call at our house as well. My husband went through surgery for kidney cancer. Anyone on this board who hasn't seriously sat down and gone over a plan for distribution of your animals, please make it your New Year's resolution. Hell, anyone can go on a diet. It takes guts to think about preparing for the worst. If you can do that, it will be the best resolution you ever kept. I am thinking about you all, Chatty. Hug Bob for me. 4 horses to go. Come on people, you know you want one.

Chatty, that's excellent news!! I know cancer is never "good news" but the fact that there isn't any spread means he can fight this and win. I have many patients who have done just that, even the aggressive form, and they are here years later to "tell the tale". I'm keeping Bob in my prayers for complete cure and perfect health, and you for peace, energy, and that you both be surrounded by love throughout this whole time.
