I know I shouldn't post here, but this will get more traffic.
Here's the ad:

The owner, Shannon, is an friend of a friend. She is an animal communicator and a beginner rider. She is a small woman (maybe 100 lbs) and very kind.
She was given Jack over a year ago. He is a big, beautiful, chestnut gelding. His name is "Jack of Hearts" because he has a perfect heart on his forehead (don't know if that's his reg. name). As a three year old Jack had gone to, and apparently won, the CA state barrel racing finals (2006, I believe). The prior owner/breeder/trainer said he developed bone spurs and shouldn't be ridden competitively anymore. I don't think he was ever lame, he would just lay down when saddled and wouldn't move. The prior owner can be contacted for vet records, xrays, etc.
Jack spent a year at the place I'm now renting. It's a hilly, 15 acres where he was out 24/7. I never saw him take a lame step or slow down at all.
Jack is a very dynamic horse and requires a owner that isn't scared to push him around. He is not mean at all, but he's an almost 16h friendly boy who has issues with the concept of personal space. He is great for all the normal stuff - farrier, trailers, bath, etc.
So the "bad": Jack spent over a year running around doing nothing. He was moved off the pasture about 3 months ago to an acre pen with 2 other horses. Shannon's friend (who's property he's at) decided to take Jack for a ride to the beach. He hadn't been ridden in over a year and she headed out alone. They made it about half way (a mile or so) to a large field where Jack panicked and bolted toward home. The friend came off, hurt her butt. She now doesn't want him at her house anymore since she is scared to ride him and that (I think) was part of the deal for him being there.
These are the only pics I have of him. They are from last fall and from my cell phone. Shannon is supposed to get more. I love this horse - he has a great outgoing personality.
