My friend's are going to have thier horse in a parade. Do you know a recipe for homemade horse glitter? They don't sell anything local and the parade is on Friday.

lol... it isn't hard!! go buy glitter. spray with cheap hair spray on horse's butt... sprinkle... lots of glitter, then spray again! :-) if you want 'words' use colored hair spray like you use to make hair purple or red for halloween, and if you want to make a cartoon on a gray horse, use crayola twistable crayons! :-) they wash off!
welcome to gymkhana!!! it's all about glitter and bling!

Also - try using the crayola brand liquid glitter. It comes in alot of colors and is in a lightweight glue base. Tape down the stencil you want to use and use one of the craft foam dabbers with the flat ends(little wooden handle with round foam head) put a big glob of whatever color glitter you want to use on a paper plate then use the dabber to fill in the stencil. Wait 10 minutes the gently lift off the stencil - then, use some SERIOUSLY heavy duty aerosol hair spray - spray LIGHTLY - wait for 10-15 minutes and spray again - PRESTO! Also - to do hooves - get the larger size glitter - the stuff with the bigger pieces. Mix with clear hoof polish - then apply. It is better to only put a moderate amount rather than super thick into the hoof polish . THEN apply 2-3 coats so that it looks super sparkly! It comes off like normal hoof polish! Also - if you want the horse to shimmer all over, but not look glittery - give him a REALLY good bath with a good shampoo - let him dry well - THEN spray with vetroline shine and while he is damp - sprinkle him all over with Revlon Shimmer or the Cheaper Shimmer face powders theya re super fine and just make him sort of glimmer Use one that is very light in color even if the horse is darker i will post some pictures of my kid Kadin when he was younger. We dazzled him all up for a parade Sara

Here is how we 'raise baby horses' in the gymkhana world... poor baby... this is one of our club member's yearling... he comes to some shows to get the hang of it... hehe... the kids snuck up on him...

WOW I never knew! WE sure never did THAT in Humptulips! Forgive me but my first thought was "Did they lead this horse through South Seattle?"

We do the hairspray and glitter. You can even use a thin layer of hair gel and glitter.
