ARGGHHHH!!
I was finally in the last leg of the trip home from the Supreme Horsewoman contest and the truck blew it's transmission!! In the snow, yet before the Siskyou pass! Thank god!
I am at a hotel, Monty is at a local boarding facility. We are safe.
The pass requires chains and it is going to be 7 degrees in Seattle tonight.
I need to get home for work. I thought about renting a car and getting home, but I need to leave Monty behind. I am not comfortable leaving him at this barn for as long as this is going to take. Anyone nearby?
Any ideas?

Zip an email or PM to icehorse; she lives fairly close to Yreka, I think ... Good luck! Didn't this happen last year?

Truck is going straight to the junk yard! It can join mine... I got slammed into friday morning by a guy who must have fallen asleep at the wheel. He came over onto my side of the road. I slowed down and pulled to the right but he never corrected and slammed into my front fender and my truck is TOTALED. (The first sheriff deputy on scene was optimistic, but the CHP and Tow Drivers all said to kiss it goodbye... www.slide.com/r/gIZ15UU4uD9k4ORpMZz2rfRWWZ2M2CwL?previous_view=mscd_embedded_url&view=originalHe literally ran into it and the front tire on the drivers side got bent backwards. He never braked or swerved, and hit me so hard the the whole bed tweaked, breaking the tailgate and the leaf springs loose.. it also broke the drive shaft, so you know the frame is just gonna be ruined. P.S. I had slowed so much and got hit from the side so the airbags never went off. I have a few twinges and aches but I don't think there is anything major wrong with me thank God I was alone and wearing my seatbelt. But now I am truck/car less, until it gets sorted out. Didn't help that it happened on a friday... Jamie I'm off this week and if I had a truck, I'd come tow him home.

Jamie, if you and Monty need to layover overnight, I will start a fire in the Cowboy (ahem ... Cowgirl) Cabin. I have six corral pens in the upper meadow and six still down by the yurt. How close can you get to Eugene? We have a truck and trailer and can get you here.
Call if you need help: 541-782-2775 or 541-556-2279.
Amy Jo and Sally (where you camped out last July)

11 am, Tuesday update:
Jamie, Monty, pucked Dodge Durango, horse trailer, etc are on their way north, finally. I called my farrier who hauls horses all the time, all over the country. His brother has a flatbed trailer for hauling cars. They towed the one truck down on the flatbed trailer, unloaded, loaded the pucked Dodge onto the flatbed, drove the second truck to the stables, loaded Monty into Jamie's horse trailer and they are on the road as I type. If all goes reasonably well they should get to Jamie's around midnight tonight.
Good luck on your adventure Jamie! Hugs from your friend's.

That is awesome, thanks hycountry for the help. I'm sure Jamie is happy to have Monty with her, and not having to leave him behind.

LOL well I still have a truck right now.. it just can't go anywhere...
It's still got a good engine and tranny in it. Wouldn't it be great if they would fit into Jamies Durango?
