Oh, great, and possibly bred? taking a deep breath.........
Hope she finds a home for good, and doesn't go back to the lot.

:sigh: bought her at auction? but used her feedlot photo???
I feel so bad for her, dumped because its too hard to care for an abscess? It just costs so much to get them here, I just can't afford it.

Was this one of the horses that Kay took to the auction when people were talking? The name of the horse sounds familiar in that respect. Gets me that they do not want to drive and take care of an abcess, which is very painful but can be resolved if cared for. Poor horse.

I'm even further south, with a totaled truck.
Maybe she could get a lift south, and you could meet someone if we collect for gas?

I just checked the CBER board ... kaymacbean is admitting that this is a horse she sold at the auction; mare had been bailed by Kelly D and kay "gave her a home". Now kay is saying she will have a hauler go get the horse back. We'll see ...

here is Kay's post... what a witch.. .and now to act like she is a 'safe' place! argh. Columbia Basin Equine Rescue :: FEEDLOT HORSES :: HORSES AT RISK :: Black & White Paint Mare - $100 (Yelm) kaymacbean Administrator BOD member is offline Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 168 Re: Black & White Paint Mare - $100 (Yelm) « Reply #9 Yesterday at 10:30pm » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes that is Ying Yang. Yes I am responsible for her being in ths situation because I made a bad decision to sell her at the Enumclaw sale. I sent this mare there with Molly, the gal that trained her for me, and I was told she went to a nice school teacher that wanted a pasture pet. Now I know why. She wanted to breed her. I have emailed the ad and offered to pay the $100 in cash and will send a professional hauler to go pick her up. Poor Ying Yang. >>>>snip..... anyway.... ok, let's get gas money, I could drive up if I can get money, I'm just broke as we have a load of 20 tons of hay coming next month, argh... I wrote the owner, and let's see what she says. we just took the paint mare who is preggers from up there a few weeks ago, so the babies will have friends. both b/w paint mares... great. but the other one is gonna be 29 in a few weeks! great to breed great grandma huh? ok, I'll keep on my email and tell ya'll if she accepts my offer to get her Cat67 has a local woman offering on her too... I did let her know what a scum Kay was... in 'other' nicer terms of course.... but who will accept a bet that poor YY will go to an auction further from home or to chucks for a mule brood life or to be shot? Let us hope Kay doesn't get her... and SHAME on her and Sam for doing this in the first place. mta: shortened the looooong thing above that was meant to only be the part from Kay...

I'm sending you $40 for gas. I'm broke too -our supplier ran out of hay so I've been paying $19 a bale for grass or alfalfa!! Just found a new one though and it's $10 a bale, but I go through 2 a day...do the math-yikes! Anyhow...Lame Lame Lame that this mare has to go through this- not what we're about at all

Thanks, let me see if she responds and says I can have her, perhaps cat67's friend will go today with a crisp hundred and a trailer and take her to safety... but I'll let ya'll know... and then we can collect some gas funds and I'll go up there in the next few days.

Did anyone save a copy of this ad? I've been doing family stuff since yesterday and now the ad is gone...
If this is indeed Ying Yang, then what happened to the other two CBER horses that Kay sold at that same sale? Ted E Bear and Spike?
Sam asked for $2500 from Kelly and when Kelly gave it, Sam promised and swore upside down and sideways that Ying Yang would always be safe...

This is sad...just plain sad. I hope that Ying Yang can become safe and not have to go through all of this again. I hope everyone knows that Kay is now a BOD of CBER. I am so glad that the BOD of CBER takes such good care on finding proper homes for the horses... GRRRRRR

I'm guessing she took the hundred from Kay and poor YY will be soon in her hands for 'permanent' arrangements soon... you can be sure we will never find out what happens THIS time

Original Ad... Thanks M & J!
New Ad...
Didn't Kay say that she went to a nice school teacher? Not the spelling/grammar/language that I would have expected.

Now the ad reads that it has been flagged down. There goes our last chance of even emailing the owner in case things fell through or to try to get the contact info of who she sold Ying Yang to.

I sent her off one more a few minutes ago, appologising for the deluge and asking if she went to a good home. I am still hopeful for a reply... mine was certainly not a holy roller email, so I'm guessing that was others... still praying for YY

The donation of 'hay' $ (2,500) was in Jan. of 08. It had nothing to do with YY. YY was in the summer of '07. Edited to add that my memory sucks!!!! I don't recall that conversation with sam, but now that I read about it, it does sound familiar. If Tash posted my conversations with sam, then it must be true, as Tash is very good at backing up what she posts, or she wouldn't post it! Tash, you would have made an awesome prosecutor and/or detective!!

On Sept 12th 2007, Ying Yang was listed through CBER for $745 in bail, plus $300 QT, plus other assorted fees.
On Sept 15th 2007, Kelly bailed Ying Yang, Carrie & King and La Grand Dame.
On Sept 22nd 2007, Ying Yang was still not taken off the feedlot with Marlene saying this about her "This poor horse wanted off the feedlot so bad that she loaded herself on Sams truck."
On Sept 23rd 2007, Ying Yang was reported to be scheduled to be pulled from the lot. This was the last update or information posted about her until she was run through the Enumclaw auction in April 08.
On January 2nd 2008, Sam requested a donation of $2,650 and Kelly gave it and said this to her "I do ask that you promise me that Ying Yang will be safe, no matter what!!! Do what ever it takes, as I paid for her too. But that isn't the only reason. I really want her to find her very place to call home. "
On January 3rd 2008, Sam reponded back and told Kelly "Ying will be safe NO MATTER what."
On January 19th 2008, Ying Yang was given to Kay by Sam.
On April 6th 2008, Ying Yang went through the auction with 2 other CBER horses. Two women rode her into the ring and were jumping up and down on her back which made the crowd actually "boo" them. There had been no posts on the boards saying these horses were available.
On May 1st 2008, I post on the board where Ying Yang, Spike and Ted E Bear were sold or else it would still be secret today. No mention of them finding homes from Kay before it hit the boards. When confronted about it Kay said that all the horses went to great homes and that she had a reserve high enough to protect them and had only sent them through because she was in dire financial crisis and they had to go immediately. The CBER board applauded Kay as a wonderful person and gave her their thanks.
On Dec 24th 2008, Ying Yang showed up on Craigslist in Yelm for $100. She was listed as possibly in foal to a donkey and with an abscess that was making her lame. The owner indicated that she wanted her gone NOW and that the first person with the cash and a trailer could have the mare.

There is no excuse for any of this is have happened to this mare. None what so ever! CBER and Kay should be ashamed

You can only feel shame if you have a conscience.
I wish someone could sue for breech of contract. After all, if was promised that this horse would be safe. At the very least Kelly could make a claim to be reimbursed for her money.
If they had notified the people of the board this horse needed a home, I am sure someone would of stepped up. Same story with Lavender and Meadow.

there were around 6 horses that sam was complaining she had to support and didn't want the burden. YY was one of them. When asked point blank, first in an email and later on the phone, what horses needed to be taken and IF YY in particular needed help she failed to respond.
This is a perfect example of why an organization needs protocol AND the inclination to follow it.

I'd also like to point out that another CBER BOD thinks it's ok to send horses through the auction.
Diane Repp has posted and e-mailed to the fact.
So if the CBER BOD thinks it's ok, what to do?
