There is not another "Samantha", "associated with a rescue", in this area that I know of that would do this IMO. I agree.....

Chris, the Sherriff, told me that the filly has been placed. But they have me as a back up plan if the placement falls through.

As of tonight, the mare is still headed to a Samantha in Yakima. The sheriff is saying the owners are happy with their decision and won't be swayed. Hopefull Jamie or someone can work with Sam and take this mare for training. MTA: THIS IS A GREAT GROUP OF PEOPLE!

yeah... even sadder knowing that Sam never even looked to her supporters for a home for her... kept it a total secret so she could do whatever with her and no one was the wiser I guess... argh... sad....

Here is the email I recieved this morning. It was a message placed out on the new CBER board. I guess two women here who have years and years of training and horse experience didn't know what they were doing. (God bless Sam for all her wisdom and knowledge ) The one strand fencing actually was the original owners fencing. The panel that you all saw in the one picture-she blew through that when they took the stallion and mare out for a few minutes. But what do we know. I was contacted by a vet friend about three horses needing help. She had homed two but still needed a home for a 2 year old black and white paint mare. My friend contacted me not the rescue and the horse was placed with me personally. I asked my friend if I did not want the mare could I re-home. She said yes as long as she was informed of the adopters as there were some issues with previous prospective adopters. I have been notified of these people and they need not contact me. The horse was described on another BB as "wild and running through fences". So far she has shown no signs of being wild or wanting to run through fences. She actually respects them. - The report I got from the sheriff was that the fencing was not solid and a single strand of electric. Which obviously is not suitable for a youngster. Anyway, she unloaded carefully, looked around and went to eating. She never whinnied, or showed any sign of separation anxiety ( also reported on the other BB). She is shy but after a 30 minute round-pen session she let me touch her neck and shoulders willingly and repetitively. She is a quick learner and I will start her ground work. Once halter trained re-homing may be considered utilizing the rescue or personal contacts. Sam

What I line of bull, The vet owner of these horses had a practice her in Palouse and we had used her a few times. And if I recall by conversation about the two CBRE horses that we adopted and at that times pledgeing money to save other horses that she was not aware of CBRES. In fact she believed in slaughter. Jody who found homes for the two also lives in Palouse and had adopted a couple of horses from CBRES work for her for a while, so that is probley where she got her contact information. Not friends As the statement I have been notified of these people , I would make a guess that the person that delivered the horses yesterday told her what we said about CBRES. As for the fenceing look at the pen she was in for the last to week, it wasn't a single strand of electric, that was what the horses were in at the vets husband place. And Sam worked her in a round pen in this cold weather, right. I bet she had Wayne pick her up the min that the sheriff was gone. I've never seen a picture of Sam training anything. Marcia (forgot to change the log in)
