Can we have a little bit of info?? It sounded like she found her forever home. Something happen to her? She is quite unique...especially if she WAS Akhal-Teke.............

Fresca was sold through the Chehalis auction and was ridden through that auction. Folks that were there say that she rode through beautifully, but that horses were going for nothing. She was purchased by a kill buyer and was set to go straight to slaughter after a trip to the Enumclaw auction to fill up the load. At the Enumclaw sale she was not run through the auction. Instead she sat in the back in a pen with about 20 other horses who were just waiting for a full load to go to slaughter. A friend and I each purchased one horse from this pen... all the others shipped that night to slaughter.
From all appearances Fresca is approximately 10-13 years old. She is a pure white Appaloosa Akhal Teke cross mare with pink skin and tons and tons of small black spots. She had shoes on at the auction and rode out very very nicely when she was test ridden at the auction by Amber. In the arena she acted like a finished saddle horse and was more then willing to do anything asked of her with both style and class. She is sound, healthy, and up to date on everything.
She has spent the last 7 months in a home but it has been decided that she is just too much horse for the 12yr beginner who was riding her. She behaves perfectly in an arena or round pen, but if you take her out by herself in the trails or fields she does want to go back to the other horses and barn. She also does not like to be in a stall and will successfully jump out. She has no bite, no kick, no buck, no anything malicious. She appears to be a very well trained (although sometimes nervous) horse other then the flaws listed above. She also has fantastic carriage and an absolutely amazingly wonderful trot that can go forever. Fresca is a sweet and extremely intelligent mare who always knows exactly where her feet are.

This was a very hard decision but it came down to, like Tasha said, Fresca is too much horse for my beginner daughter. She is a wonderful mare! She is very smart and will make an intermediate rider a great companion. I have a friend who will be doing a riding assessment on her to see if she knows dressage, which really wouldn't surprise me. She knows exactly where her feet are and she has the most gorgeous collected trot. I believe she is well trained, far beyond our experience for sure as we just trail and pleasure ride. She has been an easy keeper, even through the weather we just had. I had wondered about it because she is thin skinned (she needs a neoprene or other soft girth because of it) and you can see all her pretty black dots in the summer but she fuzzed out very well and has a nice winter coat. I will probably have her down here (SW WA) for at least another 2 weeks as she has a farrier appointment and then she will most likely be heading back up to Tasha's if she hasn't found a home yet.
