She is walking funny do to her shoes.I'm very new to this area I have only been hear for a month or so. I'm looking for someone that can do it for a decent price or would be willing to trade work for it done as I'm in the middle of getting a divorce from an abuseve jack ass. and I myself is trying to find a job. Please get back to me thanks I'm located in lakebay and you would need to come to my house I do not have a way to move her. She does good when you handle her feet.jaelinstigger@yahoo.com
AAAAAAAUUUUGGGGHHHHHHHHHH-I just need to scream OMG THIS POOR HORSE-and what is this woman doing taking it in? Someone more elloquent than me (and less inclined to be offensive right now) should contact this person and provide education/support.

Sounds more like she's foreign....but still. At least she's asking for help just not in the right way. Is anyone in the area and can they help her in any way? Or rather, help the horse?

It's easy to criticize, but she said she took the horse in - maybe she saved it from a bad situation. She's probably over her head, but she is making an effort to get help (and exposing herself to ridicule and criticism).

I guess where I found that she may have very little class was this line ....
"... as I'm in the middle of getting a divorce from an abuseve jack ass." I get it - she is going through a bad divorce, but language like that is not called for.
PLUS - although her heart may have been in the right place taking the horse in, if she has no income and is barely making it - she has no business taking in a rescue that obviously needs care that she can't provide right now. It is things like this that really irritate me - you take a horse from a bad situationa nd throw it into something equally as bad.
I hope that she finds a farrier for the horse.

Thank you Fiji- I was venting here so I wouldn't vent to her-re; her ability to care for this horse etc. The shoer that the gentle giants farm uses is pretty inexpensive-but my phone crashed and I lost all my numbers-I will need to contact them and get it again. And Sara is right-Lakebay is more inclined to have inbreds than foreign imports. Some of those people don't even have power or plumbing.

I find I have to comment on wildwoman's last few sentences. My buddy and I rescued two geldings over MLK's birthday weekend from that place called Lakebay. I live in Selah, right outside Yakima, so we traveled over the Pass, through Tacoma and kept driving to places I've never been before. It was some really pretty country, but when we finally reached Lakebay, some 3-1/2 hours and two wrong turns later, I thought we had arrived at the very place the movie Deliverance was filmed. Complete with Dueling Banjos. I was so happy to get those poor horses out of there and get us back on the road. One of the geldings was so thin, probably a 2 on the Henneke scale, and had broken a back ankle a few years back. It was an ugly sight. I'll have to post pics. Only 8 years old, a big gorgeous TB with the kindest eyes, and this hurkin huge fetlock that melded into his deformed hoof. OH, and of course, they rode him. Ugh! I ended up going clear over there because this woman had advertised on Craigslist, nobody was responding, and all the rescues on that side of the mountains are full from what I'm hearing. Anyway, Lakebay IS SCARY and I couldn't get away from there fast enough!!! Didn't want to get caught after dark.

you know while Lakebay has more then its fair share of Meth heads and low income family's it also has it share of million dollar homes and upper class familys just like most towns.

I'm sure it does. I didn't mean to be totally negative. The area was beautiful. It's just the place and people I visited were totally scary and I felt so bad for the horses.

I actually owned a beautiful home in Lakebay about 12 years ago. Loved our property and whatnot, but - was VERY glad we had a big fence with an auto gate lol. Had several encounters with the natives and have to say..... it is an "interesting" area to say the least.

and this is where my good friend and her husband live on 40 acres-and have "so far"- spent $600,000 on just the remodel-(just now started a new wing redo.) Ummm Let's just say-she married well. BUT she will be the first to admit it is full on Deliverance land-BIG dichotomy -YES there are some nice places, but it is also where some go to fall out of society. The main thing I love about the area is that it reminds me of Humptulips-rain foresty area where I grew up. (and yes there are a bunch of hicks there too!)
