MTA - the Tracy horse, a stallion, was shot 1-2 weeks after Choctaw and Lucky......that's only a 20 minute drive up the freeway but so far no word as to whether they're related or not

As many of you may have heard, 2 horses - Choctaw and Lucky, were shot in Livermore, CA in October. Choctaw had appeared in many Tournament of Roses parades, shows, and was a therapy horse at the Shriners hospital. Lucky had been rescued from a bad situation about 8 months prior and recovering nicely. Choctaw dropped where he was shot....Lucky struggled back across the pasture and died at the gate near the house......

In December, one of the members of this board found a dead mared dumped on Tesla Road, also in Livermore. It appeared that she died elsewhere and was dumped. I spoke with a friend at A/C and as of Sunday, no leads as to who her owners were or how she died, and because there was no evidence of foul play it's not likely to be investigated further. She was a beautiful sorrel mare, and could possibly have been considered or registered as a Paint due to her markings.
Last weekend, another Paint was shot and killed in it's pasture near Rio Linda, CA - about 2 hours away.
Has anyone heard about another incident in Tracy, CA last month, also apparently involving a Paint horse?
I was copied in an email from one of the Painted Ladies Drill Team members to Mike Rountree, owner/adopter of Lucky and Choctaw, the first two horses shot. They've forwarded the information to Livermore PD to see if bullets/casings can be compared to the ones from Rio Linda.
The scary thing is that there are no leads so far in the Livermore case.
