They are all underweight, they have horrible hooves, they need to be wormed and they all need blankets. Supplements are needed as well. Animal control is saying that it may be months before they can take them. I have 2 horses of my own and cant afford anything. they are getting worse ....please help.

Okay, so here is the email I got back from this person. Not much info
"they need any type of supplement for weight gain. no i am not by law aloud to find them homes.....they will be seize in a few months"
So I called AC, and he said if they were abandoned and underweight, they would not weight months before they would take them. But he couldn't tell me if there is a case open, unless I had an address. He also said they could give them away, if they would find the old owner and give them a 30 day notice. So he thinks it's a bit weird what they are telling. I emailed them back for more info, hopefully I'll get an address and can see if there is something else going on.

all i know is they're in my town in Southern California. I'm trying to get more info from the property owner.
MTA: just got another email saying they're 3, 13, and 17, but they are not very forthcoming with information.

I find it interesting that this person won't provide a phone number to call or be willing to engage in meaningful communication.
Good for you for trying to at least investigate and perhaps help.

Well, I offered to bring them a couple of bags of grain, unless they give me their address though so I can see the horses, I will not give them the grain.

hard to believe that they'd ask for help and not volunteer info so someone could help 'em!

I asked them where to bring some food, and they came back with "when would you like to bring it". Not here is where we are, and we'll be home and such and such time, or give us a call so we can arrange something.
Really makes me think they're hiding something. I emailed them back and said it's up to you, you let me know, and again, haven't heard anything back.
It's hard to be willing to help when you think you're being taken, ruins it for the good rescues out there.

I talked to AC yesterday, and they said they would not wait months before they would seize horses. So the whole thing is very fishy. Dealing with them is like pulling teeth, one little bit of information at a time. If they're afraid of people giving them a hard time, I understand, but they should be more forthcoming with info, I asked the age of the horses more than once before I got that info. They want to protect themselves, they should give their number and say, call us before you're coming out, this is what we need. But I'm honestly getting frustrated dealing with them. It's not like I have any extra money or time but if a horse really needs it, I'd like to help. Just need a little bit of cooperation.
