Ok - I have a few blankets that need a variety of repairs and am curious who you guys all like for QUALITY repairs - not the - slap a mismatched patch - straps replaced that are not even the same length and not long enough to work- kind of repairs. I am not going to say who I used, but got a couple fo blankets back recently and am very upset about the way and quality of repairs that were made. SOOO - looking for someone else to do the others so that they don't get messed up too.
Who do you guys all recommend???

The Davis's are great, but a little far probably for you. If you drop off your blankets at the Dels store in Spanaway they will ship them to her. She now lives in Packwood and does repairs out of her shop there. Very good quality of work though I was happy with her repairs. She will also make blankets, or used to. She made us two great fly sheets for our horses. Might be worth a call to Dels (Spanaway) to see what days to drop them off and if you dont need to use them for a couple of weeks might be a good deal for you.

Why not cut out the middle man and ship directly to the gal in Packwood? I'm sure Del's takes a markup and will add time too?

I can’t do the repair my self but I did have a bright idea a few weeks ago. Were I work we have an industrial washer and dryer and the weekend house cleaner is my friend and is a big animal lover and will wash my blankets for me!!! Mind you I have only worked here for 8 years and just thought to ask about getting my blankets washed!

Ya Prohorse has a guy that does the washing at one of those places where they wash rugs and things like that but I wouldn't send repairs to them just washing it gets the blankets very clean like new. Much better than Davis...

Won't discuss the person I sent the blankets to - but it is listed above. My blankets are clean - I wash them OFTEN So cleaning isn't the issue - I have several that need the gussets fixed, one that needs a strap re-sewn on and the others reinforced, I have one that needs the tail flap put back on, one that needs the side seam fixed, and a stable blanket that needs s couple of tears fixed. I will check out the other person listed! Thanks Sara

It's not hard to repair, if you have a industrial sewing machine handy at home. I have been sewing for years, got tired of the crap sewing job from the repair place .. so I do it myself since I have 6 horse's in blankets .. it's just easier and now my blanket look like a pro did them. I try to match my material and colors, the only problem all my friends want me to fix their blanket now. There are several wash and repair shops around I can think of at least 4 in my area now.. So, there's lots to chose from. I am just saving lots of $$ on wash & repairs..

Well they are home here is a picture of the first day home to say the least I was horrified at the shape they came back in. from Nov 6th to January is the time they had them and this is what I got back How did you find this out? Follow up site check? Did they call and let you know they were over thier head? What can we all do in the future to prevent this-when rehoming maybe assume they don't know feed requirements and parasite control schedule and make a packet of info for care/feeding/meds/shelter requirements/grooming/trim schedule? YOWZA Thank God you got them back before it got any worse again!

This is the thing I gave them a feeding schedule and information on foot care and worming including the last time I had done so. She had the horses at a barn with "experianced" people. I had been maintaining phone contact with the lady checking up on these girls. It had been 3 months and she had indicated that she was going to be moving them to another place closer to me and I was excited so I could check up on them. Well all of the sudden she is saying that she can't keep them bladder and back problems and has someone interested in taking them I told her that I would want them back. This is what I got back... I think the only way to make sure is monthly+ site checks. The lady blamed the people at the barn for not taking care of them when she was sick and in the hospital but these horses were her horses and there is no excuse.
