Hi everyone, A wonderful gal that I board with has a couple of ponies that she saved before they went to auction. She's looking to place them in a local home ( northern cali ). Here's the email she sent with pics of these cuties: Hello all. Please meet Oreo 3 years(gray) and Taffy 5 years (choc pal.) These girls where rescued yesterday in the height of the storm. They had one foot in the door of the Roseville auction. They are both said to be broke to ride.. we will know more soon. They need hoof trims, but seem to be in very decent shape. I have put them up in a foster home, and need to place them quickly if possible. They both are very gentile, and willing to be loved. They are still shy, and have been slightly miss handled. They seem to be making progress already. Thanks for reading, and I hope you are all some what dry!! Louise, Marie and Oreo and Taffy. If anyone is interested, please contact me at caryn_carlone@sbcglobal.net or PM me here. Thanks.

I wish they were here in Livermore, so I could play with them I'm pretty sure they are at a foster home in the Petaluma area.

Turns out they are "broke" The chocolate palomino is a Shetland/POA cross and the grey is a Shetland pony. I spoke with Lou today and she thinks they have found a home for them already!!!! It's not for sure, so if you anyone's interested in either of these cuties, please let me know.

Caryn, if they haven't found homes, please direct your friend to our brand-new local rescue, SAFER - Sonoma Action for Equine Rescue at www.saferhorse.com . We do have a listings page there, and Kate Sullivan aka afinenettle here on the board can probably also start spreading the word. You might also contact Katie Moore of Watermark Farm (of "Saving Argus" fame) as she is very involved in local Pony Club and might know some leads for homes. Good luck ... they are real cuties!
