Animal Planet- New Reality Show ???

Has anyone seen the preview of the new reality show on Animal Planet called "Jockey's"? I really hope that it focuses on the harsh reality of horse racing. In the preview it shows horses going down on the track and jockey's being tossed out at the starting gate. I just really hope this brings light to how these horses are discarded after racing, but somehow I doubt they will. I was really surprised to see this on Animal Planet.

I have a feeling that they will gloss over the horses and focus more on the jockeys and the day to day things with them more. I havent watched it, not sure that I can. After the Eight Belles tragedy last year I really lost interest in horse racing. For some reason just thought this was an odd thing to make a reality series on.

It seems like it's going to focus more on the soap opera that some of the jockeys have made their lives out to be. No interest in that....just the horses, thank you.

The preview was not all that promising for the horses. Like you said it does look like a soap opera for the jockey's. They kept showing horses going down on the track and it was disturbing.

The show is now in its third week, I believe. I have been very disappointed in it. Like the rest of you have posted, it focuses on the drama and hardship the riders go through, but does nothing to show how tough the racing life is on the horses.

Would be nice if the jocks at least made comments about actually caring about their mounts, but I have yet to see that as well. Granted, it's up to the producers to decide what to air, but after each episode I am left feeling like the riders don't give a d*mn about the horses.
